Our experience at the ranch house was so-so. The ranch house is a few miles from the hotel and has three bedrooms a living room and big kitchen. It's not really a historic structure-1960s interior. Good things: roomy and functional; pretty location with farm animals wandering around; friendly owners. Mediocre things: Kind of expensive ($200/night for family of five) but... More

The wonderfully remote location, convivial fellow travelers and Super-hospitable proprietors and staff makes even a short stay at the Hotel Diamond feel like a deep vacation. We enjoyed the wrap around screen porch for games and reading before the sumptuous family style dinners were served. It's in the middle of amazing birding country, so that's sure to be a topic... This is the first time we stayed at the ranch house instead of the main hotel. The ranch house is located in a side valley about a 10 minute drive from downtown Diamond (population 3). The ranch house has three bedrooms, one with two beds, a single bathroom, a living room, and a large kitchen. The location is quite beautiful,... More

Our car group stayed at this cute "country inn" on a remote tour of Eastern Oregon. We filled up all the main building rooms, and two couples had their rooms down the street. Our room #7, downstairs with a private bath, was around the building (outside). The room was an adequate size, although smaller than Rooms A & B. It... More

My sister, myself and my mother stayed at the Hotel Diamond recently and we were all super happy with everything! It's location is private, easy to get to and pretty quaint with a city population of 5! Needless to say, Main Street is not that long! The history is fun and the remnants of the old buildings is cool. We... More

Set back from the road and with no obvious signs to draw attention to its existence, but it can't be missed in this village where are only 3 or 4 other buildings. While touring through the area, we called in for lunch, which is served in the modern log cabin at the back of the hotel, until 2 p.m. Limited... More

I am a severely disabled woman who suffers from severe p.t.s.d. among other issues. I have to have my two service dogs with me at all times. The hotel owner told me that my dogs could not go upstairs where our second night room was to be. According to a.d.a. laws this is illegal discrimination. You can find the service... More

This vintage hotel is a little off the beaten track, but well worth at least a two day stay to enjoy the wonderful back country atmosphere, fantastic food, and spectacular scenery and open spaces. Day trips can transport the visitor to the Steens Mountain Loop Road with all its splendor, Malheur Bird Refuge, Diamond Lava Craters. Be certain to arrive... More

We had the pleasure of eating at this establishment with a group of friends. The dinners are served family style and you will not leave the table hungry. Holy cow, so much food. Started with salad, homemade pizza, homemade black bean chili then onto grilled steak, Brusse sprouts and ended with the best bread pudding I had ever had, homemade... More

We spent two nights recently at the Hotel Diamond. This was our second visit, the last one being 20 years ago. Our room was on the ground floor with a very comfortable bed for us and a foldout chair/bed for our grandson. The room was air conditioned and the bathroom was very large. Excellent bedding and towels. Breakfast was continental... More
