We have stayed twice in two months, once in June and again in August, trying each suite. Beautifully appointed rooms with many small touches that mean a lot, and nothing has been overlooked. The view is simply amazing, and my husband and I sat and watched whales for 3 hours straight on two different days. This is a well cared for property with gorgeous garden, comfortable rooms with a flair for antiques and I can't say enough about the owners. Joe and Dian make you feel at home right away and they went out of their way to make our 30th anniversary and my birthday special. Such a sweet couple, you want to stay here just because of them!! Our new favorite place, We will definitely be back in the future!

Dian and Joe are the sweetest and kindest hosts we've ever met! Their attention to detail; from the private garden, to the decorations in the suite to the special extra thought in the Anniversary card and cinnamon rolls was beyond our expectations! We were here for 3 days and relaxed on the deck listening to and watching the ocean and watching the whales swimming right in front of our suite, and the sunsets were spectacular! What an experience!

It is hard to put into words how grateful I am to have found this beautiful place. With the Pandemic in place our long awaited tropical trip to St Lucia had been canceled and we have been stuck in isolation for 3 months. I heard on a Facebook group that the Oregon coast was open and I went searching for a redeeming trip for my husband and I. When I called and found out this place was open and we were the first ones to stay after the quarantine was lifted I stoped all my searching and booked two nights. Hands down what sold me is the private deck and firepit with a majestic Ocean View on a small cove. We have stayed in a dozen places along the Oregon coast in the last 20 years and nothing compares to the view and luxury of this location. When you drive in and pull over on the side of the highway right as you get into Depoe Bay, you don't know what to expect. Then you are greeted by the most kind and friendly owner you have ever met. Diane goes over all of your options with you for eating in the area and other attractions before you check in. Then she gives you a tour of your accommodations. Even though they have two Apartments in there downstairs there are private entrances to both. We never even saw the other person on the other side, not even from our private desk. You enter through a private gate into a garden with a table. On the other side of that deck are two chairs and a fire pit with an open View of the ocean. They supply all the firewood and fire starters you need which is incredible. They even have marshmallow pokers and ingredients to make your own s'mores in the cupboard. To be able to relax day or night outside with their blankets on the porch is the most therapeutic thing or us. When you walk into the apartment it is sweetly decorated with antiques in a beautiful fashion. Sink, refrigerator freezer, microwave and full size coffee pot. (we went to the market in town and bought fresh ground coffee from the local roaster and some cream so we could enjoy coffee on the deck! But she has some packets of coffee in the cupboard if you don't care about your coffee flavor). She even as little touches like snacks or bottled water which is something that you don't see in any hotels. Dishes, silverware, coffee and tea. Couch, cable TV, lots of DVDs to watch, queen size bed and a cute bathroom with deep 1 person jacuzzi tub & shower. The stonework in the bathroom was beautiful. Every wall is almost floor-to-ceiling windows. To be able to lay in bed and look at the ocean from any view in the room is spectacular. There's even an additional deck the other side of the fire pit area. Now I know there's nowhere else we would rather be for a romantic couples weekend then here. Stop looking and enjoy the most beautiful view on the coast in a peaceful and relaxing setting. Tell Diane, Rachelle Layzell sent you. What an incredible gift for our 20th Wedding Anniversary. Didn't want to leave to go back home and be business owners again.

Whales Rendezvous is undoubtedly our favorite place on earth! We recently spent 3 weeks at this lovely ‘slice of heaven by the sea’, for our 25th anniversary. There are simply no words to describe the feeling of peace and calm that overwhelm you while staying here. It is truly a magical place, and there’s no place we’d rather be. Ever since returning home, our hearts and souls have longed to return to this amazing place. With spectacular views of the ocean, whales spouting, diving, spy hopping, and breaching mere feet from the rocks below, and gorgeous sunsets that will fill you with such a sense of wonderment...it’s simply magnificent! And, you will not find warmer, kinder, friendlier people than your hosts, Joe and Dian! They have thoughtfully anticipated your every need and comfort, and made it available at your fingertips. We truly love Whales Rendezvous, our favorite place on earth!

From almost anywhere in either suite, you feel as if you're right on the water, with front-row seats to nature at her best -- a full moon, a pink sky at night and in the morning, the crashing waves, and yes, those frisky whales. The bed was extremely comfortable and we enjoyed the fire pit and terrace, too, where we sat and enjoyed wine and the view with my husband's sister and brother in law, who took the other suite (there are only two). If it's an issue, the Rose Suite does not have a door on the bathroom (the other suite does). Walking distance to very good restaurants (Tidal Raves and Horn) and a good breakfast place (Gracie's Sea Hag). We were there for 3 nights -- perfect.
