Wonderfully friendly and helpful staff! The beds were comfortable, the shower hot with great water pressure, and the room was quiet. We appreciated how accommodating the staff was with our arrival. It was worth driving the few minutes off Hwy 101.
This was a last minute road trip for us. Because it was spring break, a lot of places were booked. Found this little gem and fell in love. We stayed in a 2 Queen room. It wasn’t large but was exactly what we needed. The couple running it were very friendly. We just loved all the special touches in the community outside areas. Definitely recommend. It’s not far from Bandon or Coos Bay.
We stayed here for a month and had issues with the stove not working, range not working and the sinks were not draining. The lady at the front desk explained there was a plumber that already came out and could not figure it out. All of these issues were present when we checked in and we stated the issues to the person at the front desk. I kept sending reminders because we had a hard time cooking because the fire alarm would go off due to the vent not working. Then next, the owner approached my husband outside in an unprofessional manner telling him that we are costing her too much money since she has to call a plumber (which the issue was already present) and having to get a stove and range (which were already broken). She then proceeded to say that we are using three paper towel rolls in one month which we have three kids and we were washing their towels for them. The owner approached him rudely in the middle of the parking lot of the hotel. Then there are ants here. We said something to the owner and she said for us to clean up after we eat and we always do. I asked her then why are there ants in the bathroom too. No food there and no food laying around here. Bathroom also has mold in the ceiling and there was a sports bra underneath the dresser that I found on the first day here. Very unprofessional.…
The owners could take the attitude that they are the only motel in town and not care about details but that is not the case. Friendly, clean, quiet, comfortable beds, and dog friendly. The reason I didn't give it a 5 star is for the price and the unusual decor in my room. With Coquille's 7% lodging tax, Oregon's 1.8% lodging tax, the $20 pet fee, our one night stay cost us $113.40. When I opened the door to room #52 I was greeted by an 8' by 5' psychedelic rose on the opposite wall. The bedspread was striped in the same mind bending colors. I felt as though I might fall into a hypnotic state if I focused on the center of that rose for very long. Fortunately, the room can be darkened sufficiently at night to avoid the garish colors for a peaceful sleep.
The new owner has really made significant improvements to this motel. We have stayed at this motel numerous times in the past year. However; the 3 nights we just spent there were the best ever. Flat screen TV, new beds, friendly and outgoing staff, and fresh coffee and donuts in the morning. Clean and comfortable rooms and were in the process of putting up a gazebo. Great value for your money.
