As other reviewers have said, this is a lovely old-fashioned hotel with heart. It was lovingly restored with attention to detail. I'll be posting some examples of this for those considering reserving a room here. My brother and I take trips together to visit ghost towns, and rent separate rooms. So we didn't rent suites, just single queen rooms. These... More

While visiting the John Day region we booked this hotel in advance: I agree with many reviewers that the hotel is nicely restored, and generally speaking the rooms are quite comfortable. However, given that I had two teenagers with me by the time we arrived at 7PM there were literally no food options in the town where we could dine... More

The hotel is OK as is. Nice restoration job, clean et comfortable room. But for 150 $ a night, in a town that does about 4 street bloc, it is overpriced. There is no restaurant, no lounge and the included breakfast is a sorry affaire. Some cheap motel offer better continental breakfast choices than here. Except that here, they serve... More

When researching lodging for our trip to the John Day Fossil Beds National Monument I had a difficult time finding something centrally located to the three different units. Nothing was appealing to me so I settled on the Historic Hotel Condon. When we arrived in the tiny town of Condon on Memorial Day there was little sign of life. The... More

Last week my husband and I were traveling thru the state of Oregon without "set destinations” for each day. We do a fair amount of traveling and I’m often concerned about where the evening will find us and what kind of accomodation will be available at the day’s end. I do not adjust too graciously to “making-do”! So, as we... More

Very comfortable and clean hotel that I always enjoy returning to. Rob, the manager, will take of you and Condon is a great place to hide away from Portland and appreciate the good things a smaller town can offer. Especially one with some great vistas and interesting hikes close by. The sitting area on the second floor is a great... More

-The service at this location was awesome , we ended up having to stay over Thanksgiving day and the staff was still very accommodating. - The rooms and establishment are stylish and comfy. It was a great price for what you get. -Overall my experience at this hotel was excellent and I would recommend to anyone staying out in this... More

An absolute gem in a small town in the middle of Eastern Oregon. This restored hotel is quaint, historic and immaculate. The only criticism is the lack of an onsite restaurant, not surprising given its remote location.

We came to the Hotel Condon for our anniversary. Absolutely fabulous inside. I loved the sitting area outside our room. Perfect to read by the fire. 4pm cheese and wine are presented in the lobby. Staff were friendly and on top of whatever you need. I must say I'm going to be hard pressed to find another hotel with such... More

This hotel offers a unique experience of enjoying the elegance of the fabulous 20's. All of the rooms and common spaces have been decorated in authentic decor. The rooms and beds are very comfortable. There is a mezzanine parlor area that is great for relaxing or reading by the fireplace. The highlight of the stay was a visit with Rob,... More
