Our family was on our way to Eastern Oregon and we are so glad we did a stop over at the Lakeside Restaurant, Motel & RV Park in Christmas Valley. The host was wonderful, helped us with contact less checkin after hours. The lake view from each room was really peaceful, as well as the desert lawn by the lake outside your door was fun to walk around. The rooms (our family used two rooms), were newly updated and extremely clean. It was clear the owner loves their establishment.

The motel is off a very short gavel road from Christmas Valley Hwy (but not a problem for any vehicle, we have a low clearance mini-van). Our AT&T received a strong reception, so I was able to do some work. The American restaurant right one site is charming.

Best designed room we ever stayed in. One bed with 2 night stands, a desk and chair, a cabinet and place to put luggage and hang up clothes, refrigerator & microwave, TV. There was a front patio where we sat and enjoyed the lake watching the deer, geese and other birds. That was very relaxing and the room was very comfortable.

We stayed in the King room #9. I appears it has been completly renovated, it felt new inside. Every thing was comfortable and scrupulously clean. The view of the lake from the room is lovely. There is a covered porch with two chairs to sit outside and enjoy the scenery. Highly recommended.

This is NOT the motel to stay out if you just need to sleep for the night. The lighting is absolutely atrocious; it’s a mystery how they haven’t been sued for someone falling down and breaking their neck trying to find the room. Sure motion lights are up, but they don’t trigger until it’s too late. Furthermore in the dark trying to leave with a big rig good luck finding your way out. No lights no signs to help you. Oh well I was stuck out in the desert alone for under an hour no biggy. Sarcasm. This was absolutely the very worst stay of my lifetime, and I would sleep in a car before ever returning to your “self serve” check in/out motel. Horrendous!

Great clean room. We reserved one of the pet rooms. They had dog dishes, dog pillow and dog blanket. Totally awesome. We go over every year or 2 and these were nice upgrades from our last trip. Thank you.

I have mixed feelings about this place. We got a full hook-up site for our RV and the area was a nice grassy area in an otherwise bleak setting. We had dinner in the small restaurant and that was great. Good food, a lot of it at a very good price. Wait staff was friendly and responsive. If we only had stopped for dinner I would have given this place the highest rating. The disgusting part came when we went to the RV park "bath house". The grossness of this place defies description. But I'll try. As an example -- there were 3 unisex shower stalls, each with plastic mats that were entirely black and green with mold and mildew. The one vanity & sink in the entire building was corroded with rust and had a faucet that didn't work. The male & female toilet rooms had 2 toilets each, no stalls. Just 2 toilets sitting side-by-side in an otherwise empty room except for the dirt and scum. The owners should be ashamed! Give this place a miss for camping. But, go ahead and enjoy a meal if you trust that the kitchen is cleaner than the bath house.

Stayed one night middle of the week. RV Prk was mostly empty. We were placed right next to people who were on an extended stay. Why? 10pm the arguments started. Yelling and screaming till well after midnight. Was awake waiting for the gunfire to start. Inexcusable to be placed next to white trash.

Rooms spacious and clean. Newly remodeled. Restaurant was unexpectedly excellent. Steak sandwich on locally made ciabatta was the best I’ve ever had. Highly recommend. Breakfast was huge and very reasonable. Servers were friendly and efficient. Plan to eat there again for dinner. P.S. onion rings are awesome!
