Felt very unsafe as the receptionist seemes high when we were checking in. Couldn't even understand what she was saying and if not for the cleaning lady helping her out we will not be able to check in. No restaurant as advertised in hotels.com. Will not go back
Melitas is an old-fashioned family run road-side motel that is just the right amount of quirky. We were on a road trip through Oregon and stayed at Melitas before heading to Crater Lake. Dont let the exterior fool you, the rooms are all that you need for a great night's sleep. The beds/pillows were more comfy than other places we stayed that cost 2-3 times as much per night. And the room/bathroom were spotless. Sure it could use a few more outlets and maybe a hair dryer in the room, but those aren't the sort of things we get super fussed about.
Had a nice two night stay. Our room had a great bed and nice large tv. Included was a microwave and refrigerator. The shower was small. The restaurant on the property is closed, but there are a few nice places to eat close by. The noise from 97 wasn't a problem at all. Staff was friendly. This place is worth giving it a chance. We will be staying here again the next time we are in the area.
We're on an extended road trip, so we've seen a lot of small hotels. This was by far the nicest place we've stayed in 12 days on the road. Spacious room, nicely decorated with wood-paneled walls, wonderfully comfortable beds with pillows of various types (soft and firm) so you can choose your favorite, and everything in the room worked. The wifi is a little wonky because of the remote location, but we got good signal on our phones. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Crater Lake National Park.
My wife and I recently stayed at this "GEM" of a place. The owners are very nice and extremely helpful. As stated by others, newly refurbished older place. No hall ways to be potentially dangerous during Covid, etc and even has a protective place for your car, which is nice in this part of the World! Will be staying there again and look forward to IT!
