Smaller campsite with a wonderful location on the beach. Loved being able to just run on beach with my dog Facilities were fine Quite far from Coos Bay but small cute town of Charleston right beside. Really nice.
Our main complaint is we waited in the social distancing line at the office to check out, four people were ahead of us. By the time it was our turn it was 11:50 am and we were told that we would be charged a $20 late fee. My husband argued about that and explained we had been waiting 15 plus minutes but we were told by the lady that she would talk to the manager to see if it could be reversed. We were charged $20 on our credit card and it was never reversed.
Absolutely the WOST STAY. I have been coming to Oceanside for 20 plus years before it was a "resort". The girl at the front desk Shayna is rude and not helpful at all. The security guard in the evening is a complete jerk. He takes his job to a whole new level. He attacked my husband and the police were called. After numerous attempts to reach the manager Misty we finally gave up. We left messages and notes with Shayna but never recieved a follow up. I would not recommend this place to anyone! So sad because the beach and camp ground was once a beautiful place. Also DOG OWNS BEWARE, there is toxic blue green algae down on the beach and it killed our beloved dog within 4 hours of being exposed. So to say the least or stay went from bad to worse. Never coming back!
My family and I were staying in one of their tiny houses for the weekend. They arrived before I did and checked in. When I arrived later that evening I pulled up outside. Before I even had a chance to exit my vehicle the security card approached my vehicle in very aggressive and confrontational manner and asked what I was doing there. I told him I was staying there and he wanted to know where my tag was. I informed him that I just pulled up and I hadn't had a chance to get it from my wife. He then told me I was a visitor and had to leave because I did not have it. I then informed him I was the registered guest and I paid for everything. He then started yelling about the tag again. I then called my wife to come out with the tag to which I then showed him. He then told me I couldn't park where I was and had to park in the front of the complex. I asked for his managers information and he refused to give it to me. After pulling to the front of the building I noticed contact information to which I called and left a message. I then proceeded back to the tiny house to unload my vehicle. At this point, the security guard comes running over and tries to intimidate me physically. I stand up to him and he runs back to his van and pulls a weapon on me. At this point, I back off and call the police. Not the best way to treat your paying guests who spend almost $200 a night. Oh yeah the place was filthy too…
Been going here for years now, and my last reviews were giving this place an Excellent review. My recent visit was very different however. The staff in the office/store were very unfriendly and were not helpful at all. I would not recommend this place any longer.
