My husband and I took this trip for our 25th wedding anniversary. The hotel location is great, the room was very comfortable, and the service was outstanding. We had our anniversary dinner in the dining room, and the food and service was spectacular. I would highly recommend staying here, and can’t wait to return. Thank you for making our anniversary so special!

If I was writing this review about a Best Western, I would rate it 5+ stars. But the Stephanie Inn charges top dollar (over $700/night) and has a reputation of "treating people like royalty". We arrived with very high expectations. They are currently seriously over-charging for the experience you will actually get. First the Good: the Inn has a fabulous view of Haystack Rock and it's easy to walk over to it. Quiet Baroque and Classical music are playing in all the public areas. The binoculars and lantern in the closet are a nice touch, as are the always-available snacks. The bed was very comfortable and there was a large jacuzzi tub in the large bathroom with a separate toilet area.. The shuttle service was easy to use and the driver was pleasant and informative. There is also plenty of free parking right in front of the Inn. The evening turn-down service was done well. The IN BETWEEN; the breakfast buffet was nothing special although they readily made special egg orders that were very good. The dining room is very attractive. Numerous people told us that the dinner was outstanding but we couldn't get a reservation. Now the BAD (for a place charging this much): When we arrived, we were told that they had received a message that the restaurant we had booked with them weeks before for our second night was closed. By this time, we couldn't get another reservation for that night. They could have called us for them to make another reservation. When we asked the desk person for some recommendations, she said "I really don't know, I can't afford to eat in any of the other places". At every encounter with the front desk people, they seemed put-upon. The afternoon " hors d'oeuvres" could have been served back at the Best Western: the wine was fine but it was paired with cheap cheese squares and sealed crackers, never a hot hors d'oeuvres. Soft drinks in the room were free but we were told there was a charge for the beer. (Again, at these rates, that seemed very petty.) There is no business center. Finally, on our last night, I called the front desk to ask for a wake-up call for the next morning; the woman said she would enter it immediately. It never came the next morning. Luckily, we had also set a phone alarm. SO, I hope you get the picture. If they were charging half of what they do, we would stay at the Stephanie Inn again. But not before then. If you are planning a "royal" trip experience here, lower your expectations and know that you will be seriously over-charged for what you will receive.

You stay here for the view, no doubt about it and it is beautiful. For the price though I would expect a bit more attention to detail and some more friendly customer service across the board. Pros - if you are staying on the beach side I recommend the ground floor. The views are probably better from higher floors but it's nice to walk right off your patio to the grass and the beach. The bonfire was a lovely experience and Dave was hustling to make sure everything worked out well. Reserve the bonfire one night, you won't regret it. The shuttle takes you anywhere you want to go which is nice and there are bikes to borrow that you can ride on the beach. The afternoon glass of wine and the evening nightcap is a nice touch. Cons - some staff were great but too many just didn't seem interested in being pleasant or helpful to the guests. The breakfast buffet was fine but that's all, again for the money it should be better. Surprised there is no bar or options for a drink after the 9:30 nightcap. Many people there are a bit older and go to sleep early but for any younger couples it would be nice to be able to order up a drink. Which leads to the final negative...it is not in walking distance to much. You can take the shuttle or walk along the beach to the city center of Cannon Beach but this is not a short walk if you want to pick up something quick. This review is mostly based on value...if it wasn't so expensive the Inn would be perfect but if you are going to charge those rates you need to offer more than a great view and a complimentary glass of wine.

The Stephanie Inn is a wonderful place to spend some days to relax and be rejuvenated. They serve an excellent complimentary breakfast, wine and hor d'oeuvres and night cap. We did not have dinner there but some friends did and said it was exceptional. They also offer a complimentary shuttle service into nearby downtown in a beautiful Tesla car. I've traveled a lot, and the Stephanie Inn has by far the most exceptional bedding, linens and bathrobes of anywhere I've been. Very friendly, welcoming and helpful staff. Highly recommend!

Staff was excellent! Food was terrific. They really put in a lot of effort to make this hotel something special. From free treats and drinks in our room to outstanding bell service. We loved our walks on the beach too.
