Detailed Reviews
Wright's is such a gem - located walking distance from shops, restaurants, and Haystack rock!
Our family of 4 (2 adults / 2 children) and dog enjoyed the woodsy feel of the campground, which by far was the cleanest campground we've ever stayed at! The facilities are cleaned throughout the day and even our firepit was vacuumed out upon arrival.
There are 22 campsites - we had site 10 on night 1 and 11 on nights 2 and 3. We booked several months in advance as this place is popular. Camp sites are spacious and some are less private than others. I loved 10 and 11 - the only complaint is the highway noise throughout the night (but that's not anything that can be helped by the incredible staff!)
Lots of families here and people doing cool things like hiking/biking the 101. I was a bit worried the 10pm noise cutoff policy would be hard to follow but we were able to finish our dinner/cleaning/be in the tent by said time without issue.
The herd of Elk that hung out by our campsite one evening was a bonus! Also thankful for the fun activities throughout the campground (basketball, badminton, sandbox).

We stayed here for one night during a road trip down the Oregon and Californian coastline. The campground was small, and the sites were a little close together, but I wouldn't say it's any worse than some of the more compact State Park campgrounds. The beach was a short walk away, and the scenery itself was beautiful and wooded! The bathrooms were clean, showers were free (SO nice!), and they had a large supply of firewood for sale at a reasonable price. They also appeared to have a small camp-store with essentials for anyone who needed them.
There was slight noise from the road and general campground sounds, but nothing that kept any of us awake.

Great place to stay on a budget! We had campsite 13 and although we heard the raccoons every night they left our stuff alone. Clean bathhouse and 24/7 staff availability. Would absolutely recommend and stay again!

Only con is that you do not have privacy in most spots, but it was a beautiful lush wooded area and easy walking distance to the beach, shops, town. We saw an elk right before turning in, which was cool. Nice staff and clean bathrooms. A little pricey, but you literally don't need to use your car once you're there.

At first glance, this sounded like camping paradise: family-owned, close to a drop-dead gorgeous beach, highly recommended by friends. We arrived on a Thursday evening, planning to stay for three nights with several friends; we had booked five separate sites to not exceed the 6-person per site limit. Our site was the next to last at the back of the campground.
We very much appreciated the well-kept sites, spotless bathrooms (though dividers you can see over are a bit odd, as are shared showers), and the laundry sink for doing dishes. Beautiful surroundings and a short, pleasant walk to the beach add to the appeal. Plenty of cute signs reminding folks of the rules (keeping fires in rings, washing off beach sand, recycling, etc.) create the sense that this is a family place and reminds you to to be on your best behavior.
We had no issues until the next night: At 1 a.m., we were woken by the sound on metal crunching on metal and lights flashing into our tent. It was clear that someone was arriving very late, but we weren't the only ones roused from a deep sleep to wonder if it was our fender that had been bent (it wasn't). After half an hour of listening to them backing a trailer into place, with commensurate yelling and headlights and flashlight light show on our tent wall--into the already full spot next to us, they proceeded to noisily light a fire and open a couple of beers to shoot the breeze. At this point, we joined the parade of fellow campers in asking them to please finish up quietly so we could get some sleep.
When we emerged from our tent the next morning, we counted at least ten people in the site next to us: the limit is six. Two other parties had arrived during the same night: no one had heard them come in. Police, summoned by someone else, arrived and talked to the folks in the overfilled site: noted that there were too many of them (police counted twelve), and left. The owner showed up, surprised that someone had called the police, since it wasn't her.
We took this the opportunity to talk to the owner to convey our concerns and to make sure that she was going to ask the excess campers to leave. She told us that if we were unhappy with the number of of people in the site next to us, we could leave: as long as we were out in two hours, she wouldn't charge us. Needless to say, we were flabbergasted: she made it amply clear that she did not intend to enforce either the six-person limit or quiet hours, stating that it was bad for business. What floors us is that she made these statements in front of a long-time repeat customer, who was equally appalled. Apparently, she thinks it more important to not mess with rule-breakers, preferring to alienate repeat business.
The bottom line: a beautiful, clean campground, but you risk being chased out by hooligans and cannot expect support from management.

We have camped at Wright's several times now, and always can look forward to a good nights sleep and a deep wood atmosphere.Peaceful, clean and quiet and surrounded by a gem of forest, this is old-fashioned camping at it's best.On site owners insure everything is taken care of and although the facility is not fancy, everything is spotlessly clean.Just a short walk to the famous Cannon Beach-this is really a sweet spot in a beautiful setting! All this and very reasonable rates-I hope this stays just the way it is!

We had the very same experience as "Not a paradise". We had stayed at Wrights several times and loved it - what could be better than a beautiful wooded campground so close to town and ocean? Well, one night a large drunken crowd moved into one of the sites and talked and shouted noisily all night - and the manager refused to do anything, saying, "Oh they come here every year for an event". What kind of reasoning is that? What a shame that such a great place has such a deal-breaker. Don't stay here unless you check first that noise limits will be enforced - maybe they'll eventually get the message.

I really enjoyed my stay at Wright's for Camping. For a college student, it is a good way to spend a vacation in Cannon Beach. The cost is inexpensive and worth all the money. The campground is just a 7 min walk to the beach and about 10 min to the main downtown (we walked everywhere, we only drove to surrounding beaches we wanted to visit outside of Cannon Beach).
I tent camp so Wrights for Camping was perfect for this. It has a bathroom, laundry room and even a place to wash your dishes (I found this very handy).
During August, the fog rolled in in the morning hours but in the afternoon it was sunny and nice. Always had to wear a sweatshirt on the beach but it was still beautiful.
My only minor negative point would be that in some camp sites the trees dividing sites are minimal so you definitely see your nieghbors. Some of the sites towards the North end of the campsite are more enclosed so if you like privacy, I would suggest those spots. They are all good and worth the money but if you really want to plan, I would try to get those.
I enjoyed my time and hope to come back another year.

We stayed at Wright's for Camping in August for 3 nights with friends. We had campspot #18 which I highly recommend. Ours was the last site in a long row, so quite private compared to the rest. When we got to the site, we did notice that the ground had nicely been raked in anticipation of our arrival, which was very pleasant and appreciated.
The staff were friendly to us, even though they tried to double-charge our friends for their stay once they arrived (we had pre-paid for all of us, yet the young staffer insisted that we had not). The bathrooms were amazing, clean, and had wonderful hot-water showers. The laundry room with a nice soak sink for dishes and laundry facilities were handy too. Wood for fires was $5/bundle and often a tad damp...so bring your own wood if you'd like to have a successful fire - or some gas.
Otherwise, the campsite is about a 2 minute drive from downtown Cannon Beach and/or a 5 min walk. The town is wonderful and very fun to explore - don't miss the candy shoppe and wine shack!
All in all, a great place to stay - would recommend it!

Our family has camped here for several years and we'll keep going back! The campsites are immaculate, as someone else already said. There are even a few sites that are big enough for our jumbo Costco 2-room tent, which is rare indeed. The bathrooms are cleaned very well twice per day. Could use better TP, for sure, and the non-private shower is a source of anxiety for me. Current price is $36/night for 2 people, then add $3 per person up to 6 people per site (summer 2014). This is the only way we can afford to stay in Cannon Beach because the hotels are outrageous and have interesting, hotel-favoring "fire codes" that restrict the number of people per room even when your room is humongous. You'll need to make your reservations a long time in advance. Look at the map on their website as well as their video tours of each site, and discuss the sites when you make reservations. A few of the sites are horrible (near the bath house) and you will definitely feel ripped off if you get one of those. I recommend you stay away from sites 2 and 4. 1, 3 and 5 are not the greatest either. Interestingly, mosquitoes have never been a problem for us here, even when we stay next to the swampy areas. Be aware that this is not a reasonable walking distance to the beach if you are lugging any chairs, etc. We park our vehicle with all needed stuff at Tolovana Wayside for the day.
