Pros: the location is an easy walk to beach and is close to many cafes and restaurants. The kitchen is well equipped, and I cooked 3 meals during the trip. They provided a vacuum that I used to clean up hairs. Comfortable size for a mom and a young boy. The TV selection is average but can be hooked up with my laptop via HDMI. We sent a lot of entertainment noise to the people eating downstairs at the pizza/ice cream shops :D. Cons: The room has no address! The office lady had to walk me to the room as I cannot follow verbal directions. There is no room service. The room is not big enough for more than 2 persons. Parking at office is 2-block away. Loading/unloading is a bit of work. The room got hot easily. I stayed 3 nights with highest day temperature at 18C. I had to keep windows open and fan running all day to be comfort. Luckily no bugs in June as the windows have no screens. The shower drains so slow that I basically showered in a pool.…
We stayed in early November at the Waves. We booked a third floor room in the La Colina wing, which gave us a gorgeous view of the ocean and sunsets. We could not have been more pleased with the cleanliness of our room, and no contact procedures in place. Our bathroom and kitchenette were well stocked with ample supplies, including extra towels. The Waves is a minute away from a great coffee house, Insomnia Coffee, plus is next door to Fultano's Pizza. We got take out one night from Mo's. We had trouble with our tv one evening but after a call to the front desk, a staff member arrived immediately wearing a mask, gloves, and with a universal remote so our remote wouldn't be touched. Rooms are thoroughly aired and sanitized between customers. Great job, The Waves, for making us feel welcomed and safe.…
Sadly, our plans had us only staying for one night.. would have really enjoyed staying longer. We stayed in the White Heron Lodge property of The Waves. It was a cute one bedroom, one bath suite with a kitchen and small living area. We could walk down to the beach and enjoy a less crowded area of Cannon Beach. The suite was clean and very comfortable. We will be back!
We always try to stay in the same room as we can relax on the deck or walk around the area so we come here for birthdays and our anniversary We see many pelicans and other birds flying around or enjoying the sand and water. The room is very comfortable with the room amenities including a fireplace. We can park and walk to all the shops and restaurants and there are many to enjoy. The staff in the office are both very nice and professional and always ready to assist. Very relaxing!!
Awesome place to stay at Cannon Beach. Clean and quaint. Highly recommend. Very close to shopping and several restaurants. Favorite site to see is Haystack rock only 4 minute’s away. This place is a hidden gem.
Mom and I loved our ocean front suite at The Waves where we celebrated her 87th birthday (I celebrated my birthday there the week before and it was fantastic as well!). Room 303 delighted us in every way. The style of the room was classic with wood beams, slate floors, a stone fireplace, and updated kitchen/bathroom counters/backsplash/fixtures. Although it was raining, we had an ball watching the brown pelicans - probably 400-500 of them! - as they settled, took flight, then resettled into the banks of the creek. As the tide came in and the evening became darker, we drank wine, played dominoes and had a delicious pizza from next door, Fultanos. When the birds went to sleep, so did we. It was a terrific bed with luxurious bedding and we woke up to the sound of the waves and the gulls. This hotel is locally owned and loved by the third generation of the family and they're carrying on Grandpa's vision in the best way.…
superb visit at the waves cannon beach! we had originally planned to stay one night and ended up staying 3, would have been more if work didn’t get in the way. Each night we stayed we promptly phoned the front desk asking for another night, to which they accommodated us quickly and with ease. We had to switch rooms each night because the one we were in had been booked already. They allowed us to stay in the current room beyond checkout while they got the new room ready for us. Each room we stayed in was beyond adequately stocked with all the necessities; blankets, towels, pillows, toiletries, kitchen utensils etc. we even had an unfortunate incident while attempting to take a photo out the window we dropped our phone and couldn’t get to it! we had to make the embarrassing phone call to the front desk to ask for assistance which they didn’t have to give bring it was our mistake but Mary & Paula rushed to our rescue and were out there with us with keys, flashlights, communication and the most positive attitudes! turned out we didn’t need to be embarrassed at all; they made us feel like it was all okay and even gave us the nickname “trouble” when they saw us again for one of our room switches. the waves is in a beautiful location and offers gorgeous views, a quiet and relaxing atmosphere and so much more. we cannot wait to go back to cannon beach and we will not be staying anywhere other than The Waves!…
The location was incredible and our room was so comfortable for our family of 5. Great views for so many windows. Walking distance to great restaurants and shopping. Wonderful staff. We definitely plan to return.
Beautiful accommodations, perfectly appointed for beachside stay, property well-maintained, excellent oceanfront location. Lisa at front desk was exceptional as a point of contact before and during visit. Easy walk to all Cannon Beach has to offer. Looking forward to a return visit.
I would rate this place a 12/10. The service was great and the location was absolutely perfect. Right next to the beach, close to restaurants and shops. We were able to buy cheap firewood from the office and have the most peaceful bone fire on the beach. We will definitely be back!
