We really love Cold Springs resort but we feel the map is false advertising and needs to be corrected. We picked a cabin that was shown on the map to not have any RV sites around it. We picked this location because we didn’t want folks hanging outside the cabin all night or having to hear the doors slam constantly.
Upon arrival we see an airstream parked no less than 10’ from the back of our cabin. At first we thought it was parked there by mistake as there is no existing RV site at that location marked on the map. But no, even worse we come to find there is a fire pit dug approximately 5’ from the bedroom window! So not only is there an RV on top of us, there’s a fire pit in our bedroom essentially making it such that we can’t open a window in the bedroom due to the smoke that will fill the cabin.

There are cabins that don’t have an RV on top of them but BEWARE, the map is incorrect and unless you are on the river, expect your cabin site to also double as an RV site.

Other than that - our cabin was spotless and all the essentials worked well. WiFi was good enough to check email but not much else. No pet odor at all and sheets/towels were clean and not worn down. Some holes in screens and outlets that don’t work/burnt out bulbs but nothing that would be too difficult to work around.

Thank you so much for this feedback. Of course we love 5 star reviews, but its actually reviews like this that help us become better. I remember your situation very well, and am so sorry for the inconvenience. We are under new management, as of last fall. The transition went very smoothly, however, the reservation for this Airstream was lost. Fortunately, it is the only lost reservation we've experienced in the past year. They showed up with a confirmation from the past manager, but it simply wasn't on our books. We were beside ourselves. In a pinch, we created a temporary spot for them (including constructing the fire pit). It was a truly unfortunate situation and, again, we're very sorry for the inconvenience and hope we have the opportunity to host you again under better circumstances.

Our extended family of 20-25 has been taking an annual October trip to CS Resort for over 12 years. We enjoy the cabins, the beautiful spot on the river, the quick walk to the Metolius General Store, visits to the fish hatchery and the head of the Metolius, exploring Sisters, campfires each evening, shared meals and quality/relaxed time together. CS Resort offers flexible, good service, super clean units, delivered firewood and attention to special requests.

We’ve been camping here for at least 20 years. Their location on the Metolius and near the Camp Sherman store makes staying here ideal. We love the lush green spaces, Pine trees, bike paths, and nearby Town of Sisters. There is always something to do or see. And of course the area has plenty of lakes for kayaking and fishing.

We visit the Camp Sherman area often. We had never stayed at Cold Springs and decided to give it a try when we saw their winter special. What a mistake! A week before our arrival we received an email about work on the septic system and were told it would not impact our stay, yet when we arrived the whole area was a mud pit, there were constant sounds of construction, and there was the smell of septic. We could have looked past that, but during our second day at the cabin, a large group showed up to the cabin next door. The party started immediately. The music and shouting was so loud that our young daughter was kept awake. At 10pm, my husband asked the group to be quiet but the noise persisted and resumed again the next evening. My husband spoke to the manager the next day (there was only an emergency number in the evening and the wireless was so poor that we couldn't even make a phone call). We later overheard the manager telling the group that we had complained, but he made no effort to enforce the resort's rules (quiet time, smoking near open windows, off-leash dogs, too many people, too many cars). We loved the access to trails, the river, and the Camp Sherman store, and we enjoyed the cabin during the rare moments of quiet, but the resort is clearly poorly managed. The resort offered 10% off of our next stay because of the septic work but based on this experience, we won't choose Cold Springs again.

Thanks for leaving this thorough review. Of course negative reviews are not ideal - but they are a good opportunity for us to make improvements. Typically our management gets excellent feedback from guests, so I'm saddened to hear that was not your experience and will certainly be following up with them about it. I couldn't agree more that the rules should be upheld for their own sake - period - not because of complaints (other guests shouldn't have to complain). We're also sorry to hear the septic project impacted your stay. The project was required by DEQ and was the right thing to do to protect the Metolius River. Its now complete and the area is being re-landscaped and seeded with grass. Thanks again.

It was a beautiful location in a quiet area by the river. We saw a lot of wildlife and access to trails are numerous. Our dogs loved it and the gates on the deck to keep them close was perfect. The cabin was the size I expected and the amount of storage was phenomenal. Huge cabinets in the kitchen, but almost all of them were empty. The few utensils and amenities in the cabin were subpar considering the remote location. Trying to cook a meal was challenging due to the lack of utensils and pans... and I loath plastic glasses. No blender, no sharp knives, no games, no ice (broken icemaker), no water bowl for the dogs. There was a firepit, but no chairs. We were told the bikes were free to use, however we never had access to them. The WI-Fi was laughable, I paid $40 for a "premium" weekend package and it locked me out of the entire network, including the free access, in 2 hours. I couldn't even search for tech support. The worst thing was the pillows, whatever that stuff is, it should not be called a pillow, maybe a car seat or dog bed???? Will look for another place next time we visit.

We have always enjoyed our stay at Cold Springs and the staff is amazing.
In April 2022, we had to pay for the 3 nights we booked at the RV area. We had to cancel a week before, because our grandson was born early. In the past friends of ours could apply their deposit to the next stay, we could not. Be careful when booking, things have changed - make sure to cancel 30 days in advance. This has always been one of our favorite spots, but it may no longer be the same. It also went from 5 great spacious RV spots to 12. Just a heads up.

This August 2020 will be our third stay at Cold Springs Resort and RV Park after staying here 2 years ago to celebrate our father's 90th birthday. The resort is set in the pines along the beautiful Metolius River, and it is very serene. We had the best time ever and have made this an annual event. Some family members rented cabins while other family members brought their RVs and stayed in the grassy meadow. We played cornhole, had potluck dinners, and campfires. We went sightseeing to the Head of the Metolius and the Wizard Falls Fish Hatchery. The highlight of the day was to walk to the Camp Sherman Store on the Metolius River for our favorite iced coffee drink or ice cream bar. Wayne and his staff are very friendly and accommodating. If you are looking for a wonderful place to have a family reunion please check out Cold Springs Resort and RV Park.

Thank you for this amazing review and for the honor of hosting your family year after year! When we read reviews like this, we couldn't feel more blessed to be able to share this space with such wonderful guests - and to provide a space for your family's memories and moments. And, yes, the iced coffee and food at the Camp Sherman Store is certainly a huge highlight!! Thanks again for this honor and we'll see you very soon!

We just spent a much anticipated weekend here in our RV. Unfortunately, this resort is nothing like the website or campground map make it seem. The map shows a spacious resort with seemingly lots of space between sites. We were literally on top of each other. They even stuck in an extra RV for someone who's reservation got lost into a spot next to us that wasn't even a spot.

The grounds themselves are nice and the river front cabins look like the best place to stay. The river is lovely and nice to walk along. but I would definitely not come back here in an RV. We like a little more privacy, not looking out our window into another RV's window. There are also cabins on the property where people live. Overall, I felt the advertising for this resort was not accurate with what is you get upon arrival.

Thank you so much for this feedback, Whitney. I actually just responded to another review from the guests that stayed in the cabin on the other side of the extra RV you mention. This situation was truly out-of the ordinary and unfortunate. I am so sorry for the inconvenience. We are new managers, as of last fall. The transition went very smoothly, however, the reservation for this extra RV was lost. Fortunately, it is the only lost reservation we've experienced in the past year. Again, we are so sorry that this difficult situation meant that your RV was abnormally close to that extra one. We really appreciated having you as guests - one afternoon, my daughter was joyfully playing in the bubbles that your kid was blowing. So, thanks for still helping create a beautiful and fun environment, despite the frustration. I hope we have the opportunity to host you again under better circumstances.

3rd time staying here and have a 4th stay planned in a few weeks. Customer service and location can’t be beat in the area. Situated on the Metolius River with trails running along the river you can hike for hours. The fishing pond on site is also a plus for the little ones and the fly fishing access is a personal plus for me. The 3 times stayed have been in a different cabin each time and they have everything you would need for your stay, including improved WiFi if you need to be connected. This a go to spot for our family vacations and the kids love it here and talk about the place all the time. Look forward to many more years of memories here. Special thanks to staff and Chris for their customer service and quick responses.

The RV park is clean, spaces are large enough to be comfortable. Grounds are well kept. Surrounding areas are beautiful. Wifi is available and free movies (DVD) are available to watch. It's a great family or couples destination. We'll make this an annual trip.

On their website you can see detailed descriptions of their RV sites; some are pull-through, others have a max length. Just depends on which site. I can't paste in their URL here, but Google Cold Springs Resort to find their site, then go to Accommodations to get to all the RV sites.
