We had a lovely stay at Cold Springs Resort. We stayed in the River View cabin for one week. It was beautifully furnished. We were able to make our own meals in the full kitchen. The outdoor sitting area looked out to the Metolius River. What a beautiful sight! Chris in the office gave us tips on where to go and see in the local area. There are many hiking trails nearby. Our dog enjoyed her time at the resort too. Looking forward to going back soon.
We have always enjoyed our stay at Cold Springs and the staff is amazing. In April 2022, we had to pay for the 3 nights we booked at the RV area. We had to cancel a week before, because our grandson was born early. In the past friends of ours could apply their deposit to the next stay, we could not. Be careful when booking, things have changed - make sure to cancel 30 days in advance. This has always been one of our favorite spots, but it may no longer be the same. It also went from 5 great spacious RV spots to 12. Just a heads up.
We LOVE Cold Springs Resort! Friendly staff, beautiful grounds, seems to attract really great people. I love the proximity to the Metolius River, Camp Sherman store, Suttle Lake, Sisters...Close enough to Clear Lake and the McKenzie River...Just a beautiful place. We will be back on an annual basis...If we can get reservations!!
This is my husband's and my third time here in a year. We live at the beautiful Oregon Coast. The cabins are so perfect. The host Jeff is absolutely amazing. The area has so many beautiful places to explore. Wizard Falls, the Head of the Metolius river are must sees. Here we can relax, it's very quiet and we have everything we need to feel at home away from home. The Metolius River is our favorite getaway from the hustle of work and it is truly a pleasure to be in this majestic area of our home state. We can't wait to return next Summer. Thank you for another wonderful stay. We leave tomorrow and really don't want to!!
Beautiful location! Very spacious and comfortable RV campsites along Cold Springs Creek. The hosts are awesome! There are so many activities to enjoy biking, hiking, fishing, golfing and beautiful shops located nearby in Sisters. We are looking forward to coming back next year! Rick & Suzie
We stayed at Cold Springs for 6 days and it was amazing! The river was just steps away from the cabin door. The area was very quiet! There was so much to do in the area, walking trails, waterfalls, fishing if you like, there is even a deli/general store/fly shop store just steps away from the cabin for anything you may need! The staff was very helpful in showing us places to visit and was friendly from the very 1st phone call! The little town of Sister Oregon is just a few minutes drive away and it’s great place to spend the day! I would recommend cold Springs cabins to anyone and I hope to get the chance to stay there again someday! Thank you for the memories
3rd time staying here and have a 4th stay planned in a few weeks. Customer service and location can’t be beat in the area. Situated on the Metolius River with trails running along the river you can hike for hours. The fishing pond on site is also a plus for the little ones and the fly fishing access is a personal plus for me. The 3 times stayed have been in a different cabin each time and they have everything you would need for your stay, including improved WiFi if you need to be connected. This a go to spot for our family vacations and the kids love it here and talk about the place all the time. Look forward to many more years of memories here. Special thanks to staff and Chris for their customer service and quick responses.
I made a reservation late Sunday evening for a trip 6 months from now. We did have some questions about the site, so followed up with a phone call first thing Monday morning. Left a message, then another later that evening because they say they are closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. I got a call back on Tuesday by a rather condescending individual, and through the course of the conversation I realized this reservation was not going to work for us, so asked if he could cancel. He then informs me they will charge me a cancellation fee of $15. Again, this was a reservation I would have had for 12 hours if they answered their phone on Monday. I get cancellation fees, but not it this case. Worse yet, he hung up on me when I said I would dispute the charge on my CC. LOL, this place is a joke, I 'd stay clear....…
We reserved back at the end of December thinking the whole Covid thing would be over, or at least ending. I guess not. The plan took that into consideration though and they did have a policy of refund or changing (with conditions) reservations. As it turned out, it was perfect for the two of us. Clear, sunny skies and a bit of snow on the ground but not so much it was difficult to walk around. First off, I want to address a negative review that mentioned the septic system work going on. Unfortunate, but after visualizing a mud pit for our vacation, I called to check on the status. Chris returned my call with a voice mail that was thorough, answered any concerns I had gave me a promise that all work had been completed, even stating the only thing left was a little pile of dirt they were planning on moving as soon as it got dry enough. Upon arrival, work was all completed just as he stated and at the time we drove up, he was just finishing some raking of the grounds. Friendly, professional and he even gave us some ideas for trails, fishing spots and an important piece of information: THE GENERAL STORE IS ONLY OPEN ON WEEKENDS. Plan accordingly so you don't have to drive into Sisters (which is only 15 miles). We stayed M-W and I will tell you it was awesome: No crowds, no traffic and no big parties or pressure fishing. We rented the CLOSEST cabin to the river, The Log, and although they state it's the oldest and least renovated, it was really nice. The old front door sticks a bit but there's a trick to it. All the important things like cleanliness, supplies, towels were present. Briquet BBQ and fire pit right out the back door. I recommend bringing some briquets, lighter and firewood. We originally we going to come with another couple as it is a 2 BR, but it would have been pretty cozy. As it was, we used one room for our luggage and another to sleep. Next time, we may try to get another couple and just get 2 cabins side by side. This particular cabin would be great for a small family but they did have a hide a bed in the living room so I think 6 would be the max. One thing I wish we would have done, especially since it was a weekday, was ask to see some of the other cabins but they looked really nice too. Footbridge to the store is only 50 yards away and then you can walk up (we walked up to headwaters) or down the river from there. If you're from out of state, I recommend this because it's away from all the hustle of Sisters, Bend or even Eagle Crest but it's still close enough for a day trip. If you're from the west side of the Cascades, then you already know it's an hour shorter than it is to Bend and a lot less crowded. Thank you Chris, Jeff and the rest of the staff that made our stay so nice. Oh and Covid has changed everything so be sure to call and check with staff on hours for Black Butte restaurants, or Camp Sherman cafes.…
We visit the Camp Sherman area often. We had never stayed at Cold Springs and decided to give it a try when we saw their winter special. What a mistake! A week before our arrival we received an email about work on the septic system and were told it would not impact our stay, yet when we arrived the whole area was a mud pit, there were constant sounds of construction, and there was the smell of septic. We could have looked past that, but during our second day at the cabin, a large group showed up to the cabin next door. The party started immediately. The music and shouting was so loud that our young daughter was kept awake. At 10pm, my husband asked the group to be quiet but the noise persisted and resumed again the next evening. My husband spoke to the manager the next day (there was only an emergency number in the evening and the wireless was so poor that we couldn't even make a phone call). We later overheard the manager telling the group that we had complained, but he made no effort to enforce the resort's rules (quiet time, smoking near open windows, off-leash dogs, too many people, too many cars). We loved the access to trails, the river, and the Camp Sherman store, and we enjoyed the cabin during the rare moments of quiet, but the resort is clearly poorly managed. The resort offered 10% off of our next stay because of the septic work but based on this experience, we won't choose Cold Springs again.…
