We had stayed two years ago and had a good time, so we though that we would come by again, no, it is not on the way to anywhere but what the heck. We got an email a few days before we were to arrived that said welcome, but then it said that check-in was not until three PM. for cabins and RV. How could this be, check-out is 11 AM, what are they doing to an RV site, maybe a walk by with some spray disinfectant or a broom, but wait they are gravel sites, so no not even that. So we delayed getting there until 1:30 PM thinking that this had to be long enough to have the RV site ready, Yes it was ready and there was only one other RV on our side of the resort and not in our reserved site, but no you may not check-in until 2:30 PM ore pay $10 per person to check-in what they call early. $20 to check=in at 1:30, not going to happen, so I told them that we will set in the RV for one hour, and did just that. I don't know if the owner needs more money but this is not the way to get it, from people that drive out of their way to stop by their place to spend a night or two. Please just raise the nightly rate if you need the money, but let RV's check in at noon, we are tired and just want to rest.

The water is delightful, and the updates are beautiful. Every time we come we enjoy ourselves more and more. We have camped, and stayed in the full rooms. We love the rooms as they have the private deck and tub, making this magical.

Awesome relaxing place ! Staff were friendly and efficient. Best Hot Spring pool I’ve seen, loved the fountain, makes for a good massage ! Enjoyed using the camp kitchen, common room with free Tea & Coffee, and the outdoor seating. Staff work really hard at keeping everything super clean !

We've been to Crane before the pandemic and it was good but rustic. The changes they've made in the last year make it nearly magical. The pond is clean and easy on the feet, big enough to swim in but still feels private. Perfect for stargazing or sunrise, even smokey sunrises, and definitely hot enough (all the way from bathtub temp to the Lobster Pot). The Sheepherder's Wagon and it's private tub and patio can't be beat. Coffee available in the commons from 7 am doesn't hurt either! Things to remember: this is the Outback. There will be bugs. And dirt. And dust. It's a work in progress, they are adding an additional bathhouse which will make the walk to a john easier, but don't expect a private bathroom. Same with the food - the kitchen is small and old but perfectly serviceable, but they could use an additional fridge; it gets filled up quick. Also - food is a few miles away, in Burns. No one is going to deliver you a pizza. Come prepared.

We stayed at Crane Hot Springs one night during our camping trip to the Steens Mtn. with our daughter and 4 grandsons. What a great place for families, couples, singles. Very well maintained. Nice variety of accommodations: full RV hook-ups, motel type rooms, small lodges, teepees, and a large area for self-contained camping and tent camping. Don't miss this little gem if you're passing through the area.
