What a way to spend the weekend! Surrounded by miles of sagebrush and High Desert, quiet and peaceful, Crystal Crane was the perfect antidote to the cold and the city. The staff was very friendly, the common areas were clean and inviting, and the hot springs were blissfully amazing and relaxing. Next time I plan to stay in a tipi with the private soaking tub!
We went here on a whim and lucked out that they had a tent camp site available that day. For the price of staying at a state park, we got a tent site, bathrooms with flush toilets, FREE showers (which we usually don't at a state park), a fully equipped camp kitchen (never had at a state park), a comfy common room (ditto), free coffee in the morning (ditto), and... oh, yeah, a huge pool of warm/hot mineral water in a gorgeous setting. It is HEAVEN. No yoga, no massage, no tai chi - it's about the WATER. Bring your own food and drink. Definitely make a reservation. And enjoy listening to the songs of coyotes as you fall asleep...
A friend and I recently spent one night at Crystal Crane Resort in one of their campsites and absolutely loved our experience. While this is not a high-end resort, it is very well kept and maintained. The campsite we had was very spacious and just a short walk to the restrooms, showers, and hot spring pond. The bathrooms, showers, and changing rooms were exceptionally clean as they are clean every hour during the day. There is a camp kitchen that is fully stocked with all the pots and pans and dishes needed to cook your meal. The hot spring pond is open 24/7 which allows for late night soaks and star gazing, as well as early morning sunrise watch. The folks that manage this site are so nice and willing to help if you need anything. While kids are welcome, I'm not sure there is enough here to keep them occupied and happy, but for adult, it wonderful. I definitely want to go back when I can stay longer.…
This was the fourth hot springs my best friend and I have visited in the span of a year. It almost tied with the others because they have all been different and special in their own way. This was the first time that we've seen hot springs be in a giant pond, but it was nice to float around in it on noodles. The private tubs on the patio of the suites are good-sized, and there was more than enough room for the two of us. Unfortunately, the sky was a little cloudy on our visit, so we couldn't see the stars very well, which is one of the attractions of Crane. That's not the resort's fault, though, and I guess it's a reason to come back. Overall, we loved it!
We staed here only for one night on our way accros Oregon. It was really great relax. We booked a dry campsite which was very spacious. For campers there is a fully equiped kitchen and free 24 hours access to a pool, showers etc. After all day driving it was absolutely perfect load into a pool. We took hot pool also early morning before our departure. Staff in office was very pleasant and very helpful. Realy nice place
We love this place. It makes an excellent base to explore the surrounding area and then coming back every evening for a great soak in the springs. We have both stayed in a hotel room here and stayed in our trailer. The prices are very reasonable.
The hot springs are great - There is a large pool and it is open 24 hours a day....We usually go out in the evening and hope to see some falling stars. Bring a floatie or pool noodle to make your time in the pool more enjoyable. They have a wide range of accommodations to fit your needs and budget. The staff is friendly and the facility and rooms are clean. There is a small kitchen that you can use and a rec room to gather in and play games or read. There is nothing else nearby so come prepared to just relax or venture into the town about 20 minutes away...
Crane is the perfect hot springs for my taste -- it's not a cement swimming pool that happens to be full of hot springs water, but it's not just a hole in the ground -- it's in the middle! Rustic but well kept. It's also a true oasis in the middle of a hot desert & a long drive! We saw a gorgeous 360 sunset, loved all the birds and the friendly staff. Only thing I didn't dig was the shower -- it was very musty and humid & the bath mat was soaked through and smelled like pee. But there was one guy working solo, slammed at the front desk, so I assume there wasn't enough staff to keep it up. It's extremely affordable to camp and use the pool (I think $35 for 2!).
Friendly staff; clean; family friendly atmosphere. Hot springs are clean and user friendly for folks with mobility issues. Love the sunrise and sunsets. The suites are great. Crystal Crane is one of our favorite destinations.
We stayed here one night on our way to Nevada. We had the Cow Poke Inn room, comfortable, clean and room for the whole family. The springs are lovely with a wetland adjacent to enjoy the birds. We enjoyed the early morning soak to start the day. We were there in July and it was quite warm, I would probably enjoy it more in spring or fall when the warm water would feel nice with the colder air. I would recommend this as a spot to stay.
