Came for business trip due to walking distance to venue. Main desk clerk was advised of our group at check in. Got back at 2 am told we were loud, which is understandable since most of the group was put on the second floor. We all went to our rooms. When in our rooms we get a

Thank you for your review. Unfortunately you might have left out some very important details. First, your “group” booked through 4 different channels. One room was booked by the venue that the band was paid to perform at. Two rooms were booked through a 3rd party website. One room was booked through another different 3rd party website. One room was booked direct with the hotel. This does not allow for the hotel to know that you are all together as one group. You did not inform the desk agent upon checking in that you were all together as you mentioned that you did. If we had known you were all together, regardless of room types booked, we would have made every effort to accommodate you all together in one location and also provided a group discount which would have saved a significant amount of money. Your “group” occupied 5 rooms with the band itself occupying 2 rooms next to each other, even though we did not know they were one party. At one point, prior to the 2am you mentioned, we received a complaint about a group of people out in the parking lot and upstairs balcony being loud. This was well after quiet hours (10pm), and closer to 1am – 1:30am. The people in the parking lot were your room, and others with your group, and the balcony was the band and photographer (by his own admission) to me the next morning. Your room and friends said to the desk agent “ok we’ll take it inside” which you did. Unfortunately, that only slowed things down until the second call from a guest about continued noise at around 2am. This was the telephone call you mentioned and apparently this temporarily worked as well, until the guest that complained, basically gave up and then told us the following morning that the noise and “partying” continued past 2:30am in the room above them (118, band members). The only room that was asked to leave the following morning was 118 after we determined that this was the source of the complaint. The other 4 rooms would have been allowed to stay, but the other band room (119) chose, obviously to go with the rest of the band. The other 3 rooms all stayed for the second night as booked including yours. Here is where I run into more issues with your “review”. You complained that the room was not clean, but only after this incident occurred. If the room was not satisfactory, then why did we not know about it upon check-in? Also, the room was booked by one of your roommates, and she arrived before you did, therefore I would imagine she would have told us about any negative issues with the room, which she did not. At that time we could have corrected the issue and at the same time known that you were all together and then we could have avoided this altogether. When you mention the “only other guest around us” and they had “not complained” and were “really nice, this is simply not true. There were two other guests in that section of rooms, one left two days earlier than their planned departure because they did not want a repeat of the night before, and the other is a couple which comes to fish the Chetco river and they did in fact complain as well, but being told that the band was being removed from the hotel, they chose to stay because they knew we had taken care of the problem. Let’s recap. You booked the room(s) all separately not informing us that you were all together and after staying at the hotel the prior year with no issues (although only 2 rooms last year instead of 5 rooms this year). You were all gathered outside in the parking lot and balcony in front of and above other paying guests not part of your group. When asked to quiet down, you and your group took it inside and continued. When asked a second time to quiet down about 1 hour later, you and the rest of the group did so, but only long enough to immediately satisfy the desk agent and all of this after 2am and damage done. A guest that was planning on staying 3 nights, checked out after only one night and asked for refund because of the disregard your group had for other guests in the hotel. One of your rooms was asked to leave (the band room paid for by the venue) and only one other room out of 5 decided to check out with them. The other 3 rooms continued to stay for the second night, even though you felt you had been wronged. All of these things add up to nonsense. This hotel does not tolerate disturbances to other guests, particularly after “quiet” hours and certainly not up to 2am in the morning. Additionally, refunds were made, even though this was not the hotels’ liability (noise from other guests). The agent at the desk upon your departure after the second night in the hotel was not rude, but simply listened to your rambling “excuses” for your behavior, and finally decided that you had said everything you had to say at least twice. Thank you for not recommending our hotel to your other friends and/or associates, our other customers will be happy to hear that. I will let the other hotels in the area know that they should encourage you to stay with them in the future.

This is right in the center of town on hiway 101, very easy to find. It's a place to sleep and go. Nothing luxurious, tiny shower, clean, very dated in the pet friendly room, place to sleep and explore the coast.

Thank you for your review. Yes, we try to keep it basic, so that rates are kept reasonable. We do have several different types of pet friendly rooms, and it sounds like you might have been in our more inexpensive basic one. Hopefully, by providing a large variety of rooms, both pet friendly and not, we can accommodate multiple different needs of our various guests. Again, we truly appreciate you taking the time to review our motel, and certainly would love to see you again at Wild Rivers Motorlodge in the future. If in the area again, check out our premium, newer more modern rooms at only slightly higher prices, the value is certainly still there.

Second stay and still happy. We were traveling on our motorcycle so we wanted outside access room. Room was clean and very comfortable. It was great to park right in front of our room. Not much in the way of breakfast but we didn't let that bother us. Next year, we will again

My spouse and I were on a West Coast vacation in August 2018 which included a drive down the Oregon and California coastline. Our journey took us to the town of Brookings on a Tuesday night, and we stayed at this motel. (Altogether we were only there for about nine hours or so.)

Thank you for your review. We are pleased that you took the time to write your review of our motel. We are happy that you mentioned “clean” as this is one of our most mentioned attributes in reviews and word of mouth. This motel (one section, a third of the rooms) is certainly an older motel, but this is the only section that has only shower, the rest of our rooms feature tub and shower, with one section being the newest rooms in Brookings. The motel has basically 3 types of motel in one, with a variety of price points to suit all various needs. We are glad that your room “fit the bill”. We sincerely hope to see you again at Wild Rivers Motorlodge if in the area in the future.

Overall this is an OK place. Staff is nice and check-in easy. We experienced 3 issues: Morning. Noise Everyone parks just outside the rooms. Early in the morning several noisy pickups woke me up. WiFi Hit and miss here. I had to go office to connect. Worked OK once

Thank you for your review. We appreciate your positive comments “staff is nice and check-in easy”, as well as “overall I would stay again”. We certainly appreciate return business and your other comments will help us in making sure everyone’s stay is comfortable and pleasant enough to also return. As an “exterior entrance” motel, vehicles are certainly parked just outside the rooms. This can cause some noise as guests start their vehicles and check-out. Unfortunately we try, but cannot completely control this issue. Our Wi-Fi has multiple access points to make sure that connection is easy, quick and efficient. Sometimes based on usage, number of rooms occupied, and time of day, can slow down both connection and speed. We strive to continually improve this free Wi-Fi feature. Again, thank you for your review, we look forward to seeing you again at Wild Rivers Motorlodge.

We do have handicap accessible rooms with roll in shower for wheelchair access. One of the two is a premium king room and the other is a deluxe single queen. Both are non smoking and of course ground floor. We do not have pool or hot tub at this hotel. Thank you for your interest. Ken Bryan, Owner

We have certain designated pet friendly rooms in most room type categories. We have a pet fee of $10 per pet per night. If a pet friendly designated room is not available on the site you are attempting to book on, you must call the hotel directly for availability. Thank you Ken

We appreciate you noticing, thank you. It's nice to hear the positive results of our efforts. We strive to continuously improve our product, cleanliness and customer service, sometimes even at the expense of the bottom line. It's comments like yours that make us realize why we do it. Thank you again.

We have two very nice premium king, non smoking rooms well off the road, very quiet. These rooms are all non smoking, no pet rooms. Redwood Forest is in several sections with the closest being about 20-25 miles. I would recommend the Brookings-Harbor chamber website at brookingsharborchamber for a lot of information on the immediate area as well as outlying areas.
