We had the pleasure of staying at this lovely B and B in an unexpected detour to southern Oregon. Don’t be put off by the long dirt road up to the house... it is a perfectly lovely house as well as the hostess, Carol
Mt. Emily Ranch Bed & Breakfast is such a wonderful place it's hard to summarize. The location is wonderful - up on a mountain with great views. When you enter you feel as though you are in one of the most fantastic log homes you could imagine. We stayed in the Green room which is one of the largest rooms ever for a B&B, or anywhere for that matter. The bath was also quite large and very accommodating with whatever amenities one would need. Then there is the food - FANTASTIC! There is easy access to Brookings and the surrounding area but it is such a relaxing, peaceful place to be you may not want to leave. We sure didn't. Thanks to Carol for her warm hospitality and helping us feel right at home. I would definitely go back again.
Carol Harrell, the proprietor-owner, provided a real treat of a stay for us. She was spot-on with information, directions and expectations before we arrived and treated us wonderfully while we stayed. Our room was spacious, appropriately decorated, and very comfortable. Breakfast was really tasty and mingling with another family staying there was fun and engaging. The property sits high on the hillside (mountain) above the Chetco valley and is literally minutes down the hill to the beach and harbor. The only drawback to our visit was parts of the very long driveway were difficult because of recent rains eroding the dirt unevenly - not the owners fault because a property owner can't be expected to regrade after every rainfall. Overall a positive experience and we will definitely re-book with Mt. Emily Ranch BnB!…
This is a unique B&B and deserves all the great reviews. We were traveling down the west coast from Astoria to San Francisco and stayed at quite a few hotels on the coast with sea views and at the half way it was great to have something completely different. The house, the location and the mountain views are stunning and I have no hesitation endorsing all the other positive reviews. We arrived about 4.00pm and Carole us to completely relax and chill out in the grounds. I would have liked to stay several nights but we had to move on. The drive up the track to the ranch is best done in daylight if you are a first time visitor.
This is a relaxing spot with beautiful views from the B&B windows of the countryside. In one direction you see the mountains. In the other direction you see the farm and, at times, cows walking past. We relaxed in the upstairs living area. Our large bedroom and bathroom was clean and comfortable. We were able to sleep with the window open and enjoy the cool air. Breakfast was excellent with a wide selection of foods. When we returned home each person said this was the best overnight accommodations of the whole trip
