Royal Gateway got fairly negative reviews, some bordering on racist in the past. That is now passed! Spent two nights there and found it clean, quiet and comfortable, although a bit tight quarters. Bed was good, bathroom clean as was the entire room. Small fridge and microwave were handy. If you want in room coffee or a continental breakfast then stay elsewhere! Bright your own soap and shampoo! Would stay here again.
Worst hotel you could every stay at, disgusting and gross. Our feet were black from how dirty the floors were, brown stains all over the wall and hair in the bed/shower. I was charge for a friend waiting at our hotel for an Uber, $50 and then threatened to be charge more. Also owners will only speak in Spanish to manipulate customers, take more money and be shady. Please save yourself a headache, stay across the street at Chalet. This place is a joke and I’m upset that I had to stay here.
We had just traveled 13 hours on the road from Las Vegas. We arrived at 130 am with no reservation but hoping to get a place to crash for a few hours before the next leg of our roadtrip. I have an ADA Certified registered service dog for my diabetes.I suppose she was the owner as she took one look at our car and said " we don't take pets". Hes a service dog not a pet. Hotels cant refuse service animals. Illegal. Then she says all their service dog rooms are rented. Again, illegal! Service dogs should be accommodated in any room. THEN! She has the nerve to ask for my documentation for my medical condition. ILLEGAL!!!!!!!! Will never ever try to stay here again and I hope no one else does. This place is gross, dirty, discriminating, and practices ILLEGAL customer service. HORRIBLE OWNERS AND PROPERTY!!!!…
Room was clean and affordable. Bed was well made and room came with a mini fridge and a microwave. The bathroom was spacious and clean. The hotel was also located in the center of town which provided easy access to all of the sties I wanted to see. Everywhere else in bend was really expensive but the staff here was accommodating and professional. Will stay here next time I'm in bend.
The motels in Bend are pretty rough and a bit over priced. We payed $78 for one of the smallest rooms ever, but it was clean and completely remodeled. We got lucky. The best thing was that there were some really great restaurants in easy walking distance.
Jose and Anna in the office are wonderful and friendly. The rates are low for bend hotels, especially when other hotels in the area are nearly or above $200 on weekends. Not to mention their newly remodeled rooms are well kept, clean and worth the price. Thank you for your hospitality.
I stayed in room 12 . very clean and nice staff I will stay here again when in bend. When I first pulled in to the hotel I was iffy about it but after I looked the room was clean and had everything was nice . helps having a friendly staff too.
I am writing this review as I sit in room 28 of the Royal Gateway. Before I start, I should probably let everyone know that I am a native Bendite. We moved out of the area about 9 months ago and are here visiting family. So I knew the Royal Gateway wasn't a classy place (literally, every other hotel was booked for Balloons Over Bend ). But I truly did not anticipate the complete and utterly trashiness of this place. I've even stayed here before and it was never this bad. There are literally ZERO ammenities. There isn't even a coffee maker in the room or the slightest continental breakfast so that you can at least go get coffee. The shower is disgusting and there's not even a vent in the bathroom. They charged us $155 for two nights and they won't even approve our extended check out request (to check out at noon instead of 11). When we asked about it, the woman at the front office looked my husband in the eye and said "11. You get out at 11". They wouldn't even let me make a reservation because the place is filled with Crack heads who LIVE here and they're never sure whose going to be able to afford next week's rent. I warn you, ANY PLACE in Bend is better than here. Cascade Lodge, Sonoma Lodge, The Chalet, even Bend Budget Inn is better than this heap. I hope they read this and I hope a lot of you do as well, because no one deserves to be ripped off like this!!…
No screens on the windows. Outdated everything. Bathroom door wouldn't shut scraping against floor. Odd smell of food coming from the office. Staff I'm assuming owners very unfriendly, I felt like I was in trouble just checking in. When I checked in my kids were with me but they were going to stay with their cousins. The man checking me in pointed at my reservation paper and said "it say's right here 2 people". If my kids were staying with me, I can guarantee I wouldn't have stayed there. It was just gross.
My room was dingy and old with worn out carpets a plug ins that didn't work. Then my room was broken into in the middle of the day (no one else was broken into) and my laptop, laptop, and other miscellaneous items were stolen.
