I have stayed at this hotel several times. First, let me say that I don't think you can get a better ocean view. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Check-in is at 4:00, but if you show up at 2:00 and your room is ready, they give you the key. That is one of the things I love about this hotel. So why only 3 stars? Simply put, it's the rooms. Perhaps the interior decorator was going for a minimalist look. Whether you have two queens or a king, you have no headboard. That makes it hard to sit in bed and read or just enjoy the view. There is a kitchen table with 4 chairs, but these are not for relaxing. A loveseat or even a recliner would be great. I believe they have done a remodel in the last 12 months. So while everything is fresh and new, I miss being able to suggle up on the loveseat with my hubby and watch the waves roll in. Can you get some headboards and little more furniture for lounging?…
This was our favorite place we stayed on this road trip. Room 366 has an outstanding ocean front view. The beach is incredible, with a lot of sea stacks. They gave you a grab and go breakfast, and also let us check out a half an hour later without a charge. Steps down to the beach for great walking. There was no A/C, but we did not need it in October. The only caveat is that the Wi-Fi was extremely bad, and our Verizon service did not work either. Not necessarily a bad thing in such a beautiful setting, but don’t expect to be able to work remotely from here easily.
We came across this place while looking for another place of lodging. It is the most homelike place I have ever stayed. It was two levels with two bedrooms, a great kitchen/dining area and the soul nourishing private lawn outside where we sat and watched the ocean and the wildlife. It was an environment of goal beauty and relaxation.
Sunset Oceanfront has two locations . One location on the beach, the other across BeachLoop Rd with spacious rooms with balconies and fireplaces. we stayed in a second floor w/ ocean view, balcony, fireplace and king size bed. Very dig friendly.
Without being told about my room options, I was booked into a motel style room in the original building. It states that you are ocean front, but in this building the rooms are right on the parking lot. Your view is of your car, literally. The room was small, musty smelling. dark and outdated back to the 60's (like pink bathtub/sink, and square tile like my grandmother had). The only window was a sliding door you enter from the parking lot. Because there was no screen, I couldn't open the door to let fresh air in. I had my dog traveling with me and I really appreciate that they welcome dogs in certain rooms. But that still didn't make up for the terribly outdated room. There were rooms in the newer buildings available that night. I wish they had given me a choice, even if it cost a little more, I would have preferred that. So, when booking be sure to inquire about which building your room is in and if it has been updated. On a positive note, the location is excellent. It is a short walk to one of the best beaches in the area. Face Rock beach is rated as #1 of things to do in Bandon. You have to take a morning walk down this beautiful beach with a giant rock the shape of a face, large sea stacks and a long beach to walk. Grab your coffee and enjoy! I'd stay there again only if I was in one of the newer rooms.…
