Check in was easy and the person was friendly & polite. My room was on the second floor and I was a bit concerned about the heavy moisture condensation on the window. I entered and turned on the light. The lighting was dim and the room felt dark. I could hear running water in the bathroom. The faucet in bath tub was running a small stream of cold water. I couldn't turn it off. The phone on the nightstand didn't appear to work so I went to the office and requested another room. He gave me a room on the main floor. That room was fine, no condensation on the windows. The TV had "no signal". I didn't want to be "That difficult customer". I heard a couple of the staff outside and asked if they might know what could be wrong with my TV. They did! It was a button on the side of the tv that needed to be changed. It worked. I thanked them enthusiastically. We visited about my dog as I was in Shawnee for a dog show. They told me do not leave a tip, they do not get any tips. I found that odd. The room was clean and comfortable with plenty of pillows and towels. There was plenty of coffee, tea and condiments but not cups. I did have a coffee cup in my car.

Honestly, if you just need a very inexpensive place to pull off the highway and sleep, this is ok. We were traveling with family who searched out the most inexpensive place to stay in Shawnee. It was reasonably clean. However, all furniture is old and scarred and falling apart. We needed to use the sofa bed in one room and had to switch rooms because one sofabed was sagging to the point of not being usable. In the other room, the sink was cracked and the shower did not work more than a trickle. Breakfast was sparse - bran but not raisin bran, no fruit, limited offerings. So stay if you need to, but not for more than one night!

The first impression oF the site was not so great.. I think the overgrown empty lot in front made it look worse than it is. However, the lobby was a pleasant surprise and the man working the desk was nice. We were early and no rooms were available yet. I explained that I needed to get my granddaughter ready for a contest and he graciously allowed us to use the restroom and lobby/ dining area. Our room was clean and honestly better than we expected. We ordinarily would not have stayed at this class of hotel but I picked this hotel because we were traveling with our dogs and it’s one of only 3 dog friendly hotels in Shawnee. The rooms were updated but carpets are old. (Hard surface flooring would be an awesome update, especially being pet-friendly). There was security on site and I like that. Our only hiccup was the next morning at breakfast. We arrived at 8:57 a.m. and, unbeknownst to us, breakfast is from 6-9. However the lady on staff had already unplugged the waffle iron. There were several other guest eating already, but the lady started taking everything away as fast as she could... I mean everything! The bread, eggs, pastries, etc. she never once asked if anyone else would like some of it or anything. Why throw away food when there were people still obviously eating??!! Another lady and I just shared a look and said “wow”! She also started dust mopping around us and shook out her dust mop right by our table as were eating! Other than this we had a good stay. Hopefully, management will address customer service with this particular employee.

Check In clerk was trying to deal politely with a difficult phone customer when we came in. The room was nice and updated, if the shower fixtures looked original (AKA old). Price was very good. Breakfast is the same as other places.

The motel is just ok. It needs a bit of TLC. It's clean, not spotless. Beds are comfortable, pillows could use an upgrade. If you are unlucky enough to get a room facing the pool, you will hear I-40 traffic into early AM (ask for a room facing Super 8 on the other side!). The breakfast was below average based on what one typically gets at this level of motel.
