February 6th we had book the event room for a family reunion…. July 16th, 17th and 18th and we had at least 12 rooms rented. Most of this family that stayed doesn’t even live in Oklahoma and only 3 lives in Tahlequah, we were the ones putting it on and don’t live in Tahlequah! Now we went by and confirmed at least 5 times during these last 6 months. On Monday July 12th we found out that there may be an issue so we drive over to figure out what the problem was… to discover that some of the reservations had been put in one of the other family members name. So after a while the young lady was more than helpful and we got everyone’s name put in with their rooms and at this point we had 14 rooms….and the event room was in our name for July 16, 17, and 18….. Thursday we made another trip and let Nancy know that 2 of the rooms we would not need anymore. But Friday something happened and we end up short a room how I don’t understand, but any who, it gets fixed after a few hours. So Friday night went well, Saturday morning we find out that the event room has been rented to someone else on Sunday the 18th of July…and instead of being out of it at midnight we have to be out by 9:00 am then changes a few hours later to 8:00 am….now the young ladies that helped us the most told us at this time we had the event room from 9:00 am Friday July 16th until Sunday July 18th at midnight. And we were suppose to have access to the pool…. Nancy decided she would close her pie shop to let us finish the day in her pie shop because the other family had sent out invitations and didn’t live in Tahlequah…. Now mind you most our family came from out of state. As I continue we find out this morning Nancy words to one of my girls that, “that she had to close her store because of us.” Now is it really our fault or hers …. Now mind you she’s the manager. So to hold my tongue I decided to go to the pool to relax to find it closed… so I asked what the deal was oh we had to put chemicals in it because of all the rain and it won’t be open till maybe late today or tomorrow…so I reminded Nancy that the party was to have use of the pool and her reply was , “you have to have a room rented to use the pool.” I walked away because it was best! So needless to say we packed up and left her business in time she could have opened it back up. Now mind you we turned one person away, now we would have fed them but I’m sure they wanted something else….in saying all this the refrigerator was not very cold the door was broke and you had to make it close all the way and the oven would not work right it took an hour to cook crescent rolls and 2 hours on hi boil to warm up baked beans and fried chicken which is terrible! Now the complainant made to us was she was loosing lots of money by not having her pie shop opened…. Understand they made at least 2500.00 of this family, are we that greedy that the mistake was on her part as a manager not ours several times we were told that we were covered to discover someone truly failed to do a job the correct way. Yes things happen but my biggest issues is her not owning up to her mistakes and blaming all the girls that work there! When you own a business if things happens it’s on you, don’t blame others and don’t go telling our guest that had nothing to do with the agreement that it’s all their fault…. Very poor business management… food may be good but when you spread yourself so thin you can’t remember what you said a few hours ago umm think you need to assign people jobs to help!!! The railing broke when one of us had just barely leaned on it and the ceiling was dripping water from all the rain…

Let’s just say you get what you pay for. I was hoping we found a gem but my family was very disappointed. Checking in the lady was nice, we went to the room and 2 of the 4 rooms smelled like smoke. There were dead bugs (gnats?) in the bed. The rooms were very small, bathroom was tiny, toilet barely flushed. The walls had splatters and were stained yellow. We knew they accepted dogs but there was like a dog park there, so many. We were there on July 4th, we expected friendly fireworks but they lit off fireworks in the parking lot way past midnight. There were fireworks that splattered on my parents vehicle. We had little kids trying to get sleep after a big day at the lake. The pie place was never open the whole 3 days we were there. The toilet seat was broken. The bed sheets were stained and blankets thin and full of holes. The box mattress was visible and stained yellow. Beds were so hard and uncomfortable. We were only allowed so many towels, “make due with what we have”. We checked out a day early, we tried voicing our concerns at the desk and the lady said she will have Nancy call us. Still no call… I can keep going but this is enough to turn away.

Took my wife and my 2 boys for a weekend Mother's day trip. The room was very nice. Very clean and well kept! The grounds are beautiful. The staff was also very courteous and helpful. The bed was a little too firm , but not unbearable. I will gladly stay here again in the future.

Give us faith, for we have a mortgage now! All’s positive-out of underwriters. We got a second look at our deck on the Horseshoe & it’s time for pie - the street sign is catchy & it’s all you see - “Need Pie yes I do”. We stopped in & while MHSW, made up her order/visited with Amy, (realtor), who also said “yes I do”, too...... there was a slice of chocolate pie/saucered/chill’in - so, I sidelined our hostess, explained Leslie’s order wudn’t gonna be a quick order - and - she proudly handed over the BEST PIE in Oklahoma. Keep partying, the bong-be-good

Friendly and helpful staff. The room was clean and spacious. Love the rustic decor. Comfortable bed. Cold air-conditioning. Although we did not use it, there is a pool and it appeared crystal clear. The families that were in the pool appeared to be enjoying it. There is a café on premises. Great home-made pie. Close to several eating places. Well kept lawn and the parking area was clean. We enjoyed our stay at this lodge.
