The Plantation Inn was built in 2009 on top of the original foundation of the Oklahoma Press Association Club house which caught fire and burned down many years ago. The Inn is located in the heart of Medicine Park,OK at the gates of the Wichita Mountains. A mere 15 minutes north of Lawton and a five minute drive to Fort Sill, The Plantation Inn is the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of the big city but still be within driving distance. Our Inn is a 20 room facility that offers 10 king and 10 double queen rooms equip with flat screen television, cable, wifi, private bathroom, iron and board, and coffee pot,(microwave and refrigerator available upon request). In addition to the rooms at the Inn, we also offer two cabins; The Red Door and The Green Door Cabin.

This place has the worst (non-existent) customer service. You literally cannot get anyone one the phone to help you. The people that own the Plantation restaurant also own this place. I tried calling the restaurant for help, but no luck. All you get is a recording at both places. Care to leave a message? Nobody calls you back. If you can't check in by 9:00, you better call them at least 12 hours in advance to make other arrangements, because the restaurant closes at 9:00 and we think that's where "customer service" is located. A few other things, the ice machine doesn't work, the TVs don't have a channel guide, and the reception is terrible anyway. The bar right across the street is pretty loud, but at least closes down fairly early. I learned from a local that the same family that owns the restaurant and this hotel also owns pretty much every other business in this downtown area. For my money, I'm never coming back to this place, and certainly not to this hotel. Yuck!

I remember Medicine Park when it was a sleepy little nowhere town. It is definitely not that anymore. The hotel room is clean. Only outside amenity is an ice machine and free WiFi which did work flawlessly. No vending machines. TV had microwave, refrigerator, and flat screen TV. Bed and pillows were comfortable but sheets were very itchy. Bathroom was very clean. Coffee machine worked. Walls are paper thin so consider that anyone in the next rooms or in the breeze way will hear everything you say even if at conversational level. No options for breakfast that I was made aware of and all menus in the room for nearby restaurants appeared to just be lunch and dinner fare. Check-in - Do not expect to check in early. When they say 3pm they mean 3pm. I arrived at 230pm and asked if I could check in early and was greeted with a terse "no." Check-in is at the Plantation Inn Cafe (nothing like the original Old Plantation so do not be surprised). I asked if I could sit at a table and wait and they said no but you can sit at the bar. Parking is at a crazy premium in this town as well so expect to drive around a bit before you find one or make your own. So the hotel was ok for what it was but at $113 (room + tax) it was a little pricey for what it was. However, unless you want to drive 20-30 minutes into Lawton it's the only hotel around on the east side of the Wichita Mountains. The outside noise was ridiculous. It is located immediately across the street from several bars/restaurants that had live music playing until well after midnight. The number of motorcycles with stereos blaring was another annoyance. Was ok for what it was but a little pricey and will not stay again. Will easily drive the 20-30 minutes into Lawton where cost is the same and a better experience.

We had supper at the plantation inn 2 nights in a row! They were amazing meals, even better service. The first night we just got off a 13 hour drive to OK from WI. The young lady server was so kind and thankful for us stopping in. The steaks are hand cut and very good. Thank you for the real, sautéed veggies, seasoned perfectly. Second night we had shrimp & another steak. Order the ribeye over the New York strip however, but they both were good don’t get me wrong! Shrimp was seasoned & cooked perfectly. Beers & drinks were great! Thank you for such a great experience in a small town.

Room Tip: Only spot open on sun-tues! Might have to wait a bit for a table but not long. No bartender to...

We decided to do an over night motorcycle trip and stayed here. Rooms are clean. Check in is down the street at the restaurant and was a bit dis-jointed, took me 15 minutes to get they key and I was the only one checking in; clerk was doubling as hostess for the restaurant...room's walls are paper thin. OK place for an over night trip to see the area but would not stay multiple nights.

It was a very nice place. Very clean and comfortable. Just across the street from Medicine Creek. I will definitely stay there again. It was reasonably priced and had private parking. Very well done. I can’t wait for a return trip.

This hotel was extremely clean, from the walls to the crisp white sheets. Not a mark or smudge on the walls. The bathroom was much cleaner than most of the higher end chains. There was no ice in machine, but it was winter in small town. One creaky board in upstairs room. Neither of these issues were a bother and the cleanliness outweighed any insignificant issues. We would stay and recommend this place anytime to anyone.

I love this place. It’s a small town feel so for those expecting Palm Beach hotel service, it’s not here. But with patience, you get your room and it’s so clean and cute. I love that you get the feel of staying in an old motel without the old motel grime. Inside Is like new. Sheets clean, there is a fridge, microwave and tv. Water is hot, pillows great, air cool. Bring your chairs to sit out front and watch the town activities - just like in the old days. Take a morning walk or run in a loop. And definitely get a maple latte and “homemade” gluten-free scones at CobbleStone Cafe across the street to bring back to your chairs. Hike Mount Baldy (very easy and beautiful). Pack your lunch to eat on the hillside. Go back for a nap. Then take a dip in the swimming hole. Let your older kids roam around town and take pics. Eat some street tacos for dinner along the street! Eat some ice cream. Back to the porch to hear local, live music. Basically, chill out.

Room was VERY clean and accommodating much to my surprise. Fairly large room with a microwave AND mini fridge which you don't see much anymore. AC worked GREAT even with 100 degree weather. Surrounded by beautiful trees and right across the small street from the little tavern and restaurant. LOVED it! Just be open minded about the parking. No "assigned" parking for the hotel so visitors often park there too. But there IS a small parking lot right next door if you can't find a space in front of your room. Will definitely stay here again!
