The listing is no longer correct. Instead of the Western Hills Guest Ranch, this is now the Sequoyah Lodge, or SL as branded beautifully throughout. I stayed here two nights and was very excited, but held moderate hopes because I was just unsure. Well, one step inside of the lobby and my concerns were squelched! This place was gorgeous. Simply... We spend a long weekend here each summer. We've never stayed in the cabins, but in the motel. In the past (when this was known as Western Hills), the rooms were average at best, and quite worn. However, the newly remodeled Sequoyah Lodge (the just finished the major renovation this Springs) is a drastic change from the past. You just... More

My husband and I traveled from Tulsa to Sequoyah State Park for a 3 day, 2 night getaway. We rented a studio cabin with a kitchette The lodge has just been remodeled and looks fabulous and the cabins (which are duplexes and quads and look like they were built in the 50's because they were) have been updated recently as... The newly remodeled Lodge at Sequoyah State Park opened for 2015 and is drastic change from the previous disrepair and outdated décor the Lodge had in past years. Gone are the rustic looks, and now the Lodge has a modern look with all new décor, furnishings, and a fresh coat of paint everywhere! We stayed in room 250 on the... More

If you are looking for a decent clean place on a great lake this is your place! Lots of paved and unpaved hiking trails, fishing dock, tennis courts, golf course, nature center, horse back riding, and an abundance of wildlife especially deer. We stay in the cabins. They are very basic and clean. They do supply some basic dishes and... More

The location is beautiful at the end of the peninsula. Bring your bikes and tennis rackets and swimsuits in the summer. that way you don't have to be in the cabins for long. We were told a year ago that they were putting decks on all the cabins. 13 months later and NONE have been built so don't hold your... More

We spend a long weekend here each summer. We've never stayed in the cabins, but in the motel. The rooms are average at best, and quite worn. But the location and setting is stunning (on a peninsula into the lake), the sunsets majestic, and the access to the park facilities superb. Thankfully the facility is undergoing a major renovation and... More

My wife and I recently stayed at the cabins at Western Hills, it looks like they have been somewhat renovated recently. The first thing I do when I stay in a room is pull the AC unit air filters to see how clean they are, it was obvious this had not been cleaned in a long time since they were... More

VERY disappointed. Requested a one bed kitchenette. It would have been EXTREMELY difficult to use the kitchenette as it was so small, no counter space to even set a coffee cup down. One table w/2 chairs across the room. You would have to rearrange furniture in order to even attempt to make a meal. The dishes/utensils in the unit were... More

A hearty looking Southern menu is poorly performed on a daily basis, or at least it was when we brought the family over several days. The staff is disinterested to say the least, and quite proficient at ignoring people. We quit trying to like it after they made it clear they were "just not that into us", and chose Pizza... More
