We when we arrived we were taken back by the odor ( old and unpleasant smell) the front lady was very pleasant. The room smelled much better, nice room (on the small side.) The front desk is not manned constantly and front doors are open until 11pm. We were uncomfortable, as anyone could enter the building until 11 pm when the front desk attendant leaves. We left shortly after check in as we were feeling very unsafe knowing front attendant had left and knowing front door was open to anyone.

Property's Favorite Review
I needed a spot between OC and Wichita to stay, and this more than made the mark! We loved it and will stop again on our way through. For one thing, the history of the place is very interesting! Even the town is fun to drive around in since it was the state capital in the early years before that was moved to OC. It had a theater, train station, huge newspaper (now a museum), and the Masons have a gigantic building which was once the state legislature. The Masons are the ones who built this gorgeous mansion of Dominion House as a children's home (with about 120 kids). The architectural detail everywhere (including the rooms) qnd the decor are gorgeous. Great breakfast of coffee, juice, toast, muffins, bagels, waffles, yogurt, etc. along with scrambled eggs and bacon if you want. We sat out on the big front porch and imagine our surprise when a host of young people all dressed up arrived and took pictures in the gardens. They were from Oklahoma Christian U. in Edmond and were having dinner served in the large dining room. It was just one of those perfect evenings for people watching.....since we were out of the way on the quiet end of the large patio. This place is amazing, and I am thinking OC folks are clawing to get in.

I love the history of this place! We got a fireplace room on the first floor. It was huge and so was the bathroom which had a big old claw foot tub as well as a shower. This place is a little funky (it has a phonograph player, for example, and an old-fashioned shaped refrigerator). The breakfast was amazing. We were asked how we wanted out eggs and choice of meat and I got the breakfast burrito which was excellent. There also juices, good coffee, fresh berries, yogurts, muffins, waffles.... Wow! We enjoyed the ambiance. A perfect spot to stop on our trip.

My daughter was married here. She was married in the arbor with running water in the background. The ballroom was beyond gorgeous and all of the staff so helpful and nice. We had guests from both New York and California and they were all very impressed. I would love to stay there again just for a relaxing bath in the huge claw-footed bathtub!

This was our last stop after a 3 week vacation. I read about it in TripAdvisor & it far exceeded my expectations. We are anxious to go back when the restaurant is open. We were there on a Monday & they are not open until Wed - Sunday. However, we were left a phenomenal breakfast in our room that was not like any other breakfast from a chain hotel. The room was gorgeous & the grounds beautiful! Cont wait to go back.

I loved staying at the Dominion. I was disappointed the restaurant was only open for evening meals, but the room, the staff, and amenities, were wonderful. It is as if you are on the set of an upscale 1940's movie. The room was large, with a small retro refrigerator, couch and snacks. The bathroom had a large shower and a slipper tub. We stayed in one of the larger rooms on the first floor. The town has many antique stores and if you are interested in architecture, the buildings are most interesting. We ate the continental breakfast provided by the hotel, and had lunch at Katie's diner. The food there was nothing fancy, but it was good home-style cooked food and we would recommend it.

We loved everything about our stay here - the atmosphere and service were both amazing and the stay was an incredible value for the ambience and experience. Since we live relatively close we plan on coming back and staying again soon! The breakfast was wonderful and they give you a little menu to choose from, they were also very accommodating when I mentioned I follow a GF diet. The check-in clerk was wonderful to speak with and she gave us lots of information about the hotel and it's history even though they weren't running tours because of the pandemic. I highly, highly recommend staying here - you won't be disappointed!!!

We booked the Presidential Suite for a night and would have loved the weekend there- very clean, spacious, lovely comfortable bed, huge bathroom and a small retro frig. So close to Oklahoma City, if we had known, we would have returned here. Fireplace was fun, easy to use and put off a lot of heat. Nice TV. Had dinner in the bistro, how wonderful to just walk down the hall and back. Parking is so easy here as well. We had a wonderful relaxing evening.
