The location is great. My daughter was thrilled to watch/chase the deer. Our cabin and the meals served to us there, took all the stress out of traveling with a toddler. The food was wonderful. Highly recommend the 3” steak!
This was the perfect retreat for the wife while the husband was across the street at Diamond H Boy Scout Ranch--and then for both of us after the BSA shooting event. The mattress was very comfortable. The peace and quiet, the beauty and the hospitality are unbeatable. Both Genny and Greg were very personable and met our every need. We look forward to having a meal prepared by Chef What's His Name next time!
As usual, Genny and Chef Greg did everything they could to make our stay so comfortable and memorable! This property is top notch —cleanest ever. Thank you Genny and Chef Greg for all you do for us and all your guests this year and in years past. We look forward to our next visit! Mary and Jim
The rooms and facilities inside and out are clean and comfortable. Everything is in good working order. We stayed here last minute when our baby got sick while on vacation and needed more comfortable arrangements overnight. The owners are very nice people who call guests by name and remember return guests (we stayed here in 2017). They even bring coffee and continental breakfast to your room. I’m enjoying mine on our porch right now. Can’t overemphasize how clean everything is. I don’t see any cob webs or dust on the floor.
Been awhile since we stayed anywhere other than our house, due to the pandemic of 2020. This was our first outing. Before we arrived, Genny texted us enroute to judge our arrival time and offered directions if needed. Google Map app got us there with ease. Genny greated us with a mask on, inquired about our vaccination status, and went maskless as we shared our common vaxed status. Chef was on hand to greet us as well, we chatted a bit, set our menu for the next morning, and we were snug in our room a few minutes later. The room was spotless, smelled clean (not disinfectant clean, but "clean house" clean). Everything worked, plenty of plugs in the room for electronics. Bathroom linens are clean, soft and luxurious. The separate "makeup only" wash towel was a nice bonus. Spent many hours chilling on the upstairs deck (we were in the Scenic Turtle 2A), drinking coffee and watching the deer, squirrels and birds and listening as the white oaks caught the late-Spring breeze in their branches. Wifi in our room was running between 2-1 Mbps on average. Not quite enough for a Zoom call, but fast enough for web browsing. Genny and Chef offered us the Main Lodge for our Zoom calls but we ended up just using our phone data and setup a hotspot. Data coverage for us (Pioneer/Verizon) was terrific, stable and fast. Must be a cell tower nearby. Room amenities are well stocked and plentiful. Booked last minute so only sampled continental breakfast fare. Post cereals (cold) and Quaker Oats packaged oatmeal (hot), fruit cups with hot and cold beverages - all yummy. Carafe of coffee was wonderful. All food items, utensils and condiments were individually wrapped and sealed for sanitary (Covid) practice. Mid-May stay, so weather was cloudy and temperate. Slept with the windows open and shades up (upper deck room). Fell asleep to frogs and crickets in the distance. Full moon overhead made for lovely evening viewing. Make sure you get outside at night to check out the Milky Way overhead. Even after dark there were no bugs buzz bombing us on the deck, so either they spray the grounds for mosquitoes or are just in a lucky spot. Was so quiet at night, that we actually took the battery out of the wall clock, since that was the loudest thing in the room. How's that for serenity. Ate at Skipper's (at Six Shooter Marina, a few minutes drive) for dinner one night. Fried seafood and burgers for us. Get lots of extra fries to feed the carp and geese from the outdoor seating. Lucked out on our final day and awoke to the sound of rain drops hitting the oak leaves outside our window. Spent that morning on the deck, drinking coffee and letting the spring rain fall on our toes. Bliss. The location is remote, but we were able to navigate the dirt road up to the B&B in a Chevy HHR (4-cylinder, automatic) with no problem. I imagine during the winter or rainy season the roads may be more of a challenge, but even after a morning of steady rain, the dirt road proved no challenge. The story behind Terrapin Peak is an inspiration to anyone who dreams of a better life for themselves, away from the madness of city living and corporate madness. Be sure to ask them about it.…
My husband and I decided to spend a couple days here to celebrate his birthday. The dynamic owners went above and BEYOND to make our stay comfortable, fun, and most importantly SAFE! Masks were worn and the resort was spotless with hand sanitizer available for guests. Our room was decorated for his birthday along with fresh flowers. We requested a dinner so we wouldn’t have to eat out. It was delicious...every detail met our taste. Can’t wait to eat the leftovers tonight. Wonderful facility and owners/managers. Our 5th stay and we hope to be back many more times. Thank you Genny and Chef! MB
We loved the location, the layout, the privacy, the wilderness abound. The property is very well kept and the rooms were clean roomy and perfect for me and my family. Our hosts were very kind, sensitive to the global response to the pandemic, and did more than just 'let us stay' a few nights. We were welcomed like we were family. They went above and 'BEYOND' what we ever would have expected. We had a great time, we saw tons of wildlife and were treated very well and plan to come back!
We were looking for a place to get away for our anniversary and stumbled on this place. Talk about a hidden gem Genny and Chef are wonderful and made us feel perfectly at home. Great way to celebrate our 5 year anniversary and we will be back. The breakfast was also amazing and exceeded our expectations.
This was our first visit to a bed and breakfast and after googling ones in Oklahoma, this one had the best reviews and was close to where we were spending the day. I can see why it had such awesome reviews! We stayed for one night on a saturday night to celebrate my birthday. We arrived around 4oclock to Genny and Chef "what's his name", they were so friendly! they gave us a tour of the main area, and the commercial kitchen which i loved since i'm a cook. They had a massive dvd collection that we went and borrowed one that evening after our dinner out. We stayed in snappy turtle 3B, the whirlpool tub was perfect for us and was alot of fun. The room had a small frig, microwave and a coffee pot and a nice little flat screen tv with a dvd/vcr combo to watch the movies they have. We sit out on our private porch on the swing for awhile and really enjoyed the fall weather and beautiful scenery. We had breakfast delivered to our room Sunday morning and the fruit and fruit dip was delicious! i took it home and ate all of it for leftovers. We also had great cinnamon rolls! When we checked out, we chatted for half an hour with Genny and Chef, and got to see 6 or 7 deer come onto the property and eat, even watched a buck chase some does around which was exciting for us! Upon leaving, Chef also cut from fresh basil and sage for me to take home to use when i cook! It was a great experience for us and made us feel real welcome! we will definitely be back in the future! and hopefully play a game of pool this time! I highly recommend this place.…
Far away from the hustle and bustle and anxieties of work, Terrapin is a mountaintop retreat about an hour or so from Tulsa. The attention to detail is breathtaking. The room (3A) was the cleanest room I have ever experienced on vacation. The Chef is a planner, and called us a few weeks before our stay to make sure we had a five star meal. He delivered in spades, and obviously takes great pride in serving up a fine meal to the guests. Thank you for making our 19th Anniversary escape relaxing and wonderful!
