Yes the rooms are rustic and the breakfast is basic but the rest earns 5 stars! Amazing view of the lake-get up early and watch the sunrise-breathtakingly beautiful! Baby swallow nests will entertain the children and would could be more perfect than deer outside your balcony at dawn and dusk! The staff are so nice and friendly and you cant...

We got the groupon for a weekend as a Christmas gift. Knowing it was a state lodge we didn't have particularly high expectations. We went to the area mainly to fish and having stayed in a state cabin the previous year we thought this would be an improvement. The rooms are nothing special AT ALL but felt like they were...

Great view! Watch deer from your balcony, feed the squirrels and doves. Wet a hook, ride a duck or zip line. You can't do it all in one weekend. So make plans for longer so you can ride the train, trail ride or just soak in the beauty.

Was In the area for 2 days. Our family enjoys hiking and fishing. Unfortunately it rained our 2nd day and we left early. The lodge itself is somewhat dated but we didn't care as we were just gonna be there to shower and sleep. We had a balcony and view of the lake. Deer and squirrels were hanging out nearby....

I loved this place!! the accommodations were that of a basic motel/hotel. The rooms were nothing fancy. They certainly didn't have the bugs and dirtiness that some people claimed. I would definitely stay here again. The deer do show up around 7:15 for dinner. The front desk has deer corn to feed them. You have a perfect sunrise view of...

My husband and I purchased the Groupon and CANNOT wait to return. The view was absolutely breathtakingly gorgeous. The rooms were nice and comfortable. There is so much to do nearby-hiking, great restaurants, kayaking, fishing! They offer a basic continental breakfast; if you want something fancier check out the nearby restaurants. The staff was really nice and helpful. We really...

The Lodge at Hochatown State Park is all about location, location, location! Beautiful vistas of the lake, as well as nearby wooded hiking and even a heard of deer that arrives for morning and evening feeding will greet you on your stay. While quiet and off the beaten path, it's within a 5-10 minute drive of all the local eateries...

Booked 4 nights here over New Years Eve with a a couple Groupons that we purchased. We upgraded to a suite once we got there for 30 bucks a night more. Even at $90 bucks a night total, I felt it wasn't worth it. We actually left a day early. There were lots of bugs in the windows and by...

We came for two nights to the lodge. Deer greeted us as we walked to the lake front property. Rooms were clean and updated. The free breakfast was def continental with the mere basics. You can enjoying hiking, fishing, and watching the bald eagles soaring nearby. Most things to do were closed for the winter, however, there are a few...
