These people acted like I was crazy because I didn't want to sleep with a bug investigation. Then I was told verbatim "Google it". Then they left a false review of me on air BNB claiming "she threatened a one start review of we didn't refund her". I have half a mind to post the entire conversation where that did not happen. Don't stay here, the VERY small room would have been fine if there weren't bugs crawling all over the ceiling.

The room itself was as presented online, nothing fancy at all but fairly clean. It was very small and crowded and we both whacked our legs on the bed frame right inside the door. But all of this was ok. The problem was that there were stink bugs everywhere. We found three in the room, disposed of them and turned around to find four more. The only mention of the bugs was as we were almost to Yellow Springs, we got a text saying our room was ready, followed by a text showing a giant stink bug and saying that it was part of being in the country and they were harmless. Many insects, spiders, etc. are harmless but I do not want them flying and crawling around my motel room. If the owners are unwilling or unable to control this or make sure their rooms do not allow these pests in, then I think they should make visitors aware of the situation BEFORE they book a non-refundable reservation. We found this situation unacceptable and left to drive home, ruining the trip. When I advised the owners, no one is onsite, that we were leaving and the reason why, the only comment was "thanks for letting us know".

The only positive was the room was clean. A little neon and a fresh coat of paint does NOT make for a great lodging experience. I reserved a room from Sept. 12-14 when my wife and I visited YS and surrounding area. The NOISE was a huge issue. Road noise, in-room noise from the AC unit, TV noise when you had to increase the volume to hear over the AC unit, and noise from the other units (several doors down). The other concern was safety - the motel is managed remotely. There does not seem to be any security measures in place (other than a keypad entry into the room), and anyone can gain access to the grounds. I know it's a motel trying to be vintage, reasonably priced (by today's pricing standards) and part of the YS vibe, but sadly it failed. After a second horrible night, we decided to forego the third night and traveled down to Mason, Ohio and spent a very peaceful night at a Best Western ($30 less than a night at the motel). Come to YS, enjoy the town, hike around Glen Helen, Clifton Gorge, John Bryan SP, see the sunflowers, have some ice cream at Young's, but think twice about staying at the (Yellow) Springs Motel.

This motel was so clean! I was super impressed with how thoroughly the room was sanitized. When we arrived the owner was even soaking the doorknobs with sanitizer. It was very comforting to see them go through all of the precautions against the virus going around. It has a quaint bed and breakfast feeling so we felt safe and right at home. They had the cutest retro chairs outside to enjoy the fresh air. They even had things like hot tea and yogurt available for breakfast and snacks too! It's close to everything and we loved it so much that we will be back again!

The Springs Motel is the cutest place! It's super quaint with lots of charm and the location is perfect. The owners were so welcoming and went so far above and beyond to ensure everything was sanitized and immaculate with all of the COVID-19 concerns. I cannot express how impressed we were with their thoughtfulness and care to detail. Beds are super comfortable and we adored the retro flare! Firepit was stocked with wood and ready to go so we took advantage of the serene night views. Breakfast and snacks are available as well as coffee and ice. The mini fridge in the room came in handy as well. If you are coming to Yellow Springs, do yourself a favor and check this place out!

The rooms are sweet, with beautiful quilts, hot showers and farm fresh eggs for breakfast. I've stayed here two separate times now and the experience has exceeded my expectations on both occasions. Robyn, the wonderful lady who runs the motel is the most genuinely kind person I have met. She made us feel welcome & wanted. Yellow springs and specifically springs motel is our home away from home. Its located perfectly outside the always bustling town making for a perfect distance for a good night's rest before and after a day of shopping, hiking etc. She even offers free fire wood to use outside. The customer service we receive each stay is beyond excellent and the rooms are immaculate. I personally guarantee you wont find a place to stay with more integrity.

If your looking for the perfect stop, this is it. The rooms are so sweet, the town is completely unique and the motel has a beautiful exterior. Above all that Robin made our stay so easy. We felt welcome and completely comfortable. She is a great communicator and a warm soul. It was like coming home to an old friend. The best. Thaknyou!

I met Robyn, the manager approximately 7 years ago when I first stayed at The Springs Motel. She has always gone above and beyond my expectations to ensure our visit is comfortable and we have everything we need. This is a quirky little hotel that has so much character! I'm so at home when I visit that it keeps me coming back year after year. In fact, I've met some really great people around the camp fire. If your looking for a comforatble, affordable place to stay, I highly recommend The Springs Motel where your treated like family.
