Our second time staying at Riverdog was as perfect as our first. Terry & Deborah are perfect hosts: warm, helpful and welcoming. The accomodations are beyond wonderful: impeccably updated spacious accomodations next to a bubbling stream and secluded forest. Our suite had 3 large rooms including a country kitchen stocked with plenty of fresh fruit, home-baked bread, cereals, coffee/tea, and...

We really just needed a place to stay for two nights while visiting our daughter at Oberlin College, but found the Settler's House at Riverdog Retreat to be so much more! On the way home we were talking about our stay, and saying that it could be a destination in itself - what a great place to spend a relaxing...

My wife found and booked Riverdog as a birthday gift to me. We live only about an hour away, in eastern Cuyahoga County. Even though it was a relatively short drive away, Riverdog made for the perfect weekend getaway. We stayed in the Riverview Suite. It was Halloween weekend, and there were still some Fall colors. We could see and...

My husband and I spent 2 lovely days at Riverdog Retreat. The Cedar House was perfect; very clean, attractive, unique, and homey. The bed, an important feature, was very comfortable. The owners of the property are artists, and the house was decorated with their artwork. It was very relaxing just sitting around and looking at it. The property was restored...

My girlfriend and I recently spent a romantic weekend at Riverdog in the cedarsuite. We are both working professionals, travel frequently, and are quite selective when it comes to accommodations. In fact, the previous month we stayed at the Glendorn, a 4-star Relais and Chateaux property, in Pennsylvania. We couldn't believe how unique and luxurious (think upscale rustic) our suite...

We recently stayed at the Riverdog Retreat for husband's Oberlin reunion weekend. Incredible!!! Looked wonderful on-line, but even better once there. Art, nature, river/creek, lovely cats and dogs on-site, and absolutely top-notch accommodations in spacious, unique cottages and rooms, decorated with the owners' artwork and beautiful furniture. We biked into Oberlin via the rails-to-trails bike path right nearby (delightful ride!),...

We visited while returning our daughter to Oberlin. We rented the Cedar house and suite at a reasonable price. We were greeted by friendly dogs and host, Deborah. We had a kitchen with fresh home-baked bread, quite a treat. We enjoyed the porch, walking on trails to the Vermillion river and through a wetland meadow. The mowed trail left plenty...

Riverdog Retreat is on a quiet and private country property. We stayed in the Settlers House which has been wonderfully restored and decorated. Terry and Deborah's art is whimsical, fun, and made us smile. The Settlers house has a dining room, kitchen, sitting room, and bedroom plus a few other rooms that we didn't use. We enjoyed having a kitchen...

Our family stayed at Riverdog Retreat while on a college visit at Oberlin. We could tell from the web site description that it was unique and offbeat. What a wonderful spot! The property is beautiful (an old farmstead), in the woods along a river. The owners (Deborah and Terry) are lovely people-- artists who have put a lot of love...

“Just FYI, I put down theres good restaurant in the area. This is true if you know where to go. For all your eating needs head to Oberlin. I've lived all over the world and Oberlin literally has the best breakfast place AND bar. In the world. No joke. Theres an unreasonable amount of great restaurants for such a small town. Pizza, burritos, etcetc”
