This is a great Bed and Breakfast with new owners and a whole new outlook. The inn has recently been renovated, and is located on a quiet street, but within an easy walk to the downtown area. An expanded continental breakfast is included. This inn is perfect for couples and groups. Come see us.

We just returned from a few days on Put-in-Bay to relax and get away. This B&B is ideally located, within walking distance to the main street areas. We stayed in the Driftwood Suite, located on the lower level of the home, with two rooms and queen size beds. This room is by no means a basement or musty. It was the perfect 68 degrees the entire time and nicely decorated. We appreciated the extra space to move around. The entire home looks professionally decorated and landscaping was meticulously manicured. The owner is quite accommodating, even showing us other available rooms to decide if we preferred them over our original booking. He was also kind enough to take us to the ferry at the conclusion of our stay. I appreciated the ease at which I was able to reserve a golf cart on site to use for the duration of our stay, at a reasonable rate. Whatever you do, make sure you try the egg cup at breakfast. It reminds me of a cross between french toast and a well poached egg. Truly amazing. My husband enjoys cooking and is still talking about it a day later. I would highly recommend this place and would stay here again.

Last year, in 2020, I was looking for a quaint place to have our wedding in the midst of covid. We were going to have 10 guests and try to keep it simple. We found The Getaway Inn online and I knew right away it was the perfect place for us! All of our guests had a room, we used the beautiful back yard and patio for a cookout one of the nights and they let us have access to their kitchen so we could entertain our guests. We loved it so much we returned here this week for our one-year anniversary! Here's what I love about this place: 1) Cleanliness: The home is so clean and you know that they are taking time to make sure it is in tip-top shape, especially with everyone's concern for the pandemic. 2) Hospitality: Danny and his staff make you a home-cooked breakfast every morning that is wonderful. They go over the top to make sure you have everything you need and make you feel like you are at home. You get to know them and you feel like they are your friends when you leave. 3) Location: The Getaway is so close to town but not close enough that you can hear the noise. It is very quiet and just the right distance from town. Great proximity to everything. 4) Quaint: This little B&B is so comfortable and full of character. Each room is decorated so beautifully. The beds are so comfortable! We sleep really well here. I would encourage anyone looking for a quick getaway to the island to consider this place. We almost want to keep it a secret we love it so much!

This was our first time staying at a Bed and Breakfast and what an amazing experience it was! We had a family of 4 and stayed in the Northern Woods Suite. This is room #8 which is upstairs and its a large room! A king bed on one end and a queen on the other end with a sitting area in the middle! We absolutely loved the design of The Getaway with the outdoorsy feel and the back yard is absolutely amazing!! Danny the owner was beyond wonderful and was also so kind to our children! We sat on the back patio in the evening and had a great conversation with Danny and another guest. You can tell he truly loves what he does and takes the time to add extra touches to make your experience special! I'm very picky on cleanliness and this place was truly spotless! From the checkin area to the greatroom to our suite everything was so clean and organized! When we walked in they had some nice music playing im the greatroom that just gave a relaxing and comforting feel! The breakfast was amazing and thank you Danny for making scrambled eggs and bacon for our boys and the warm cookies in the evening were a big hit! They also offered overnight golfcart rental at a great discount! They also have bikes that you can ride for free! The backyard is beautiful and there is a trail that takes you into Coopers Woods. They were so kind when we were leaving as his sister-in-law (who was also amazing) took us by golf cart to the Miller Ferry! I really can't say enough about The Getaway as its amazing and we will be back on our next trip!

Due to covid-19 most of our vacations have been canceled this year. Desperately wanting to get away for a couple days we booked a little trip to Put In Bay. Getaway was beautifully decorated, super clean, the beds were comfortable, and we had tons of room in our suite. The breakfast is terrific!! Especially their lakeside potatoes and eggs! We did our best to social distance and take take proper hand sanitizing precautions. Which worked great here, they had plenty of hand sanitizer, brought your breakfast out to you (plenty of outside seating), and they had some small nature trails on the property. We would definitely stay here again!

Danny and his people are super great inn keepers. They are friendly, funny, and down-to-Earth. This is our second time staying and only came back because of the host. Danny is great.
The Getaway Inn has bikes, golf carts, has a great location just a block from downtown, but is on a quiet side street. Breakfast is always yummy and the beds are always soft. It has a great north coast (is that a thing?) lodge feel rather than a kitschy Florida Keys feel. It is authentic. You'll love your stay here.

We have been coming to PIB for years and have stayed in many different places from motels, condo rentals, and B&Bs. This was by far the best place we have ever stayed! The inn is homey, beautifully decorated, and offers many options for relaxation. The back yard is soooo serene! The room was very comfortable and offered plenty of privacy. The innkeeper and staff were friendly and did everything they could to please their guests from personally serving breakfast, cookies and snacks available, and providing towels to wipe down golf carts after a rain. Would definitely love to stay at the Getaway again on a future visit.

It's a little hard to score this Bed and Breakfast because there were some great parts and average parts. We loved the location, golf carts availability, adorable house and beautiful wood and backyard, lots of places to sit outside. The rooms were cute but ours and my sisters were very small. There were no closets, no hangers and not proper places to store your clothes if you wanted to in our room. They did have a coat rack type of thing. The bathroom had all the towels needed, sink on the outside of the bathroom. They had a good lighted makeup mirror, I'm not sure about a hair dryer. It seems like the care takers leave the property but if you need something they responded within 30 min. They also had water, snacks for .50, and a little community refrigerator to put your leftovers or drinks in. Breakfast was basic, a quiche, sausage, toast, fruit, coffee was ok but no decaf coffee. I would have liked some muffins or yogurt too, especially if you are a vegan. Check-in was easy, nice people. They also have a cocktail hour which we missed. Just need some hangers LOL!

From the moment you step foot in this amazing B and B you are overcome with such peace and tranquility. Danny the owner is kind, welcoming and makes you feel like part of his family from check in to check out. The rooms are each unique and the decor is tasteful and well thought out. The back sitting area facing the woods is so calming and the perfect beginning and/or ending to each day. Breakfast is more delicious than you could imagine, and you feel so pampered being served each morning! We are so blessed to have been able to stay here as this getaway was just the escape we needed! Thank you Danny for making our weekend so wonderful!!

My daughter and I stayed in room 4 and across the hall my sister and niece stayed in room 5. We loved it!! From the online booking experience and check-in to the Inn's location and breakfast, the entire experience went smoothly. Danny and his staff are wonderful hosts! We took a car on island and had parking there with an easy walk to downtown, but its location kept us out of the hustle and noice of the golf cart "parade". The backyard space was beautiful and common areas comfortable and relaxing. Most importantly, our rooms were clean! Our high school age girls said the carpets felt like home and you didn't feel like you needed to wear socks to stay off of "the yuck"! Bed and pillows amazingly comfortable! From couples to a family with little ones, all the other guests were friendly- no crazy partiers during our stay! We only stayed one night while doing some tours at OSU's Stone Lab, but would have loved to stay longer. We will certainly be back!

This B&B was perfect! Very cozy and quiet, yet close to downtown. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. My husband has a disability, and it is usually very difficult to find an accessible B&B. The Getaway Inn was very accessible, with some bedrooms on the first floor, accessible deck and bathrooms. Beds, bathrooms were comfortable, and throughout the cottage it was a beautiful atmosphere of relaxation and coziness. We enjoyed our stay so much! Next time when we visit Put-in-Bay we will stay only at Getaway Inn!
