Yes, the location is good. It is clean. 2 good reasons to stay. This was our first time on the island. Put-In Bay is a great place to visit! Ahoy Inn is cute from the road, eye pleasing for sure. Then you get put in the back of property in an bunkie type room - 9 rooms in total all in one larger unit. We were on the ground floor in unit B1 (middle room) right beside the kitchen unit. At first we thought we were going to be in the main house like the picture on the internet shows but we decided to just go with it. It was clean and the bed was comfortable. The level of noise we heard through out the night and early morning caused us to have very little sleep. I would not recommend the bottom floor no matter how much they tell you it is insulated and sound proofed. We could hear the people above us up through the night going to the bathroom and flushing and walking around so early it was impossible to sleep. Both my husband and I woke up at the same time in the early morning from the people above us getting up at 6:15 am and doing stuff until 7 am. There was not going back to sleep. I don't blame the people too much as they are above us and of course they are going to be moving around but it was how much you could hear from below that bothered us. I left a note at the front desk when we left at 8 am that morning. I stated that we did not enjoy our stay due to the lack of sleep and that we tried to reach them on their pre hours phone number that is left at the front desk. Plus it says to knock on the office door if before 9 am. I did both knock twice and call twice to check out. No one came or answered the phone. I have read through some of the other reviews and yes there are good reviews. It was unfortunate we were on the ground floor, maybe things would have been fine otherwise. It's not great when you spend money on a place and leave feeling exhausted. We didn't stay on the island for the day as planned due to feeling so tired and having a good drive in front of us. I did get an email from Nick, as I did leave a note with our key on the front desk. Here is Nick's reply to my note this morning: I am sorry you did not enjoy your stay, the office opens at 9am which is why you did not see anyone this morning. If any guest needs anything when the office is closed they are welcome to call the reservation number. ( I did twice- no one answered) The ceiling is double drywalled with a half inch air pocket between the two layers to reduce noise and also there is plenty of insulation between the floors. However I understand some people like to get up early and if they are constantly walking around and on the larger size ( as in this case) then they probably did wake you up. Unfortunately we cannot always accommodate larger people on the ground floor. Regards, Nick. AHOY INN Guesthouse, PO Box 920, Put-in-Bay, OH 43456 So my reply is- we saw the people above us and they were not over weight people. They were older and not in anyway large. I would also like to add that I wore my socks to bed to keep my feet warm. I had had a shower that night and in the night had taken my socks off in bed. I did walk on the floor in the morning with my bare feet and my feet were very dirty within a very short time of getting out of bed. My feet were clean from the night before. I was kinda grossed out on how dirty the tile was - it did not appear to be dirty but it is a darker color so you wouldn't notice it. I would also like to add that I have never in all of our years of travelling been declined to use a bathroom when you arrive at a place that you have booked and are staying. I did ask to use the bathroom when we arrived - check in but was told there was no bathroom until our room was ready. I get that they want you to use your room bathroom but to not have anything for people in the office area for paying customers seems really off side to me. I am saying it like it is.... unfortunate and disappointing for us.

This is a very clean place to stay. Had all amenities. We had a coffee pot in our room but shared a kitchen (we had 3 couples in 1 building where we all had our own room which was nice). We had a table with chairs in kitchen area to play games, etc. Our room specifically (C2) had a weird musty odor that was bothersome (maybe they need to clean filter? or place a Febreze plug-in in there?) Our friends did not say their room smelled that way. Water pressure is minimal for shower. All couples agreed beds are "hard" and "lumpy". New mattresses are needed. We stayed 3 nights. Close to town (can walk). We did get golf carts for 1 day (50 a day) and used the complimentary bikes which was really nice. They also had tables and chairs right outside so we did utilize that area alot. So glad we went during the week as we left on Friday and the lines to get on the ferry over were atrocious. Enjoyed our stay and overall, would recommend Ahoy Inn.

Stayed end of June. Easy check-in and all was fine. Nice room and clean. Nice bikes that were complimentary. Enjoyed the front porch. Location was close to most everything. Easy check out too. Noise levels were low.

I was a bit sceptical about a guest house instead of a hotel but would recommend this place for sure. The Ahoy Inn is for couples only so that was a big plus. We spent a Sunday night so it was much quieter than the weekend. We had the English Room. It was all decked out in London decorations. It was on the first floor so, although we didn't have any issues at all, you may want a second floor or the out buildings. We felt so at home. It is just steps away from the main drag so we walked or biked. They have complimentary bikes and you can rent golf carts too. The room came fully equipped. Loved it so much we plan to go back in the fall. Give this place a shot. You will not be disappointed.

Clean, close to downtown and reasonable rates. We loved the front porch and having a mini-fridge in the room was a nice option. We did feel that the walls were a little thin but overall it was a great place to stay and we will most likely stay again as we return to PIB each year.
