Fab Wedding weekend ! wrote a review Jun 7

Definitely recommend !! - it was the best choice for sons wedding weekend!! No way weekend would be the same with a hotel stay We felt we had a real getaway as well as the big event . We were met with a welcome poster outside , at the door and in the kitchen! The tower was the ‘icing on the cake’ for our sons wedding weekend. We couldn’t had a more restful and fun place especially for a post-Covid reunion. We were outside most of the time but there are two kitchens , tons of dining space, large family room and a lovely sun porch/ playroom for kids . They have all modern necessities but the charm of the home shines with comfortable furniture, antiques and Ohio history . Super clean and stocked with every supply and amenity . Bonus everyone had their own bathroom - a plus on wedding day! Gorgeous yard with backdrop for grooms party photos. Outdoors we had a lovely patio, cornhole, bikes, sports equipment. Tennis courts right across the driveway . Our hosts were attentive for any need and with a constant supply of “Bozo’s blend” coffee. Bozo , aka Pete, had a fire ready for us each night without us asking. Choosing the Tower and our hosts was a difference maker for this mother of the groom ! Minutes from Gideon Owen and Catawba Club rehearsal and wedding venues . The setting and ease let me focus on fun and being with family and friends and the special couples day We truly felt as if we were in our own home relaxing for one of the best weekends of our lives!

Juju and Bozo became part of the family. They welcomed us into their home and they helped make the wedding weekend truly special. Had we not all been together at SunnysIde Tower it would have been a typical wedding weekend but staying here made it truly magical. The house is comfortable; clean and warm and the service was top notch. We are all wishing for a little “Bozo Blend” right about now, it makes for a perfect way to start the day and it is a great afternoon pick me up. Thank you again for making our first trip to Catawba Island a memorable one!!!

There aren’t enough nice ways to say how amazing Juju and Bozo are and how terrific Sunnyside Tower really is. We have 7 in our family and our friends have 10 in their family and we all fit comfortably with enough rooms and bathrooms for all. The hospitality you get as soon as you walk into Sunnyside is something you don’t get everywhere you go and Juju and Pete instantly make you feel right at home. The house is large, but very cozy and also very clean. After the year we have all had, I don’t know if they can fully realize what a treat it was for us to be able to gather and spend a weekend with friends that are really more like family. Thank you again for you amazing hospitality and friendship. Dave and Susie Christensen

Wonderful experience. Julie and Peter made sure the experience was fun and inviting for all. Entire house was rented by our group, Juju helped with catering, food transitions from parties to football were executed to perfection with special touches everywhere. Bozo’s coffee blend is smooth, fire-pit and fireplace was always stoked and ready. Property is well maintained and accommodations were made and rooms and bathrooms cleaned and turned for a couple of room transitions. This place deserves their 5 star rating.

Our family of 29 recently spent a week at the Sunnyside Tower with Julie “Ju-Ju” and Pete “Bozo.” I could never, in one short review, give adequate accolades for this encounter. Julie was been attentive from the first time we contacted her, almost 18 months before arrival! She was quick to answer every inquiry and even sent us items of interest that we might see and do in the area. With the pandemic all around us, and plans uncertain, she continued to work with us, provide updates and assure us that she would work with us no matter what our decision as far as dates. AND THAT IS ALL BEFORE WE GOT THERE! The experience just got better from there. The welcome reception, the complete tour so we weren’t searching for things later, the room assignments (and subsequent rearranging, which Julie handled, just like everything else, with a smile and great grace.) We started off on the right foot, and just kept going. The house and grounds are magnificent. The attention to detail is amazing. It was not a sterile rental home, but a place we could live, love and enjoy for the week. - but not have to worry about "breaking things" - because we felt like it was a "home" not a "museum".) Everything was set for us to enjoy, right down to the optional scavenger hunt that filled a rainy afternoon. We were a ten minute walk to the sunsets on Lake Erie. Bikes were on the go. Chairs were set for campfires, picnics and chatting. It felt like it was a created perfectly just for us. Activities were an easy drive. Cedar Point is under a half hour. Ferry to Put-in-Bay is just down the road and it was a short drive to a nice beach. But, we only went there a couple times, as there was so much to do at the house. The kids could run and play without worry, as there was no traffic and we had LOTS of land. The adults could visit, play cards, enjoy food and each other. If you are looking for a place to relax and enjoy each other, and your hosts, this is it. (However, let me add, Julie and Pete, though there and extremely helpful, were never intrusive. They made us feel welcome, were in the kitchen in the morning, and then would pop in sometime in the evening.) As a couple they are a perfect mix. As proprietors of the house – they know how to do it right. THANK YOU!
