Yes, we were here off season, yes the outside of the hotel and the lobby look great but we were expecting a little better accomodations. The hotel was remodeled years ago a lost most of its ambiance. We already knew about the length of time to get hot water. The bed was good and the sheets were great. Apparently the...

It's a beautiful little hotel. Old and historic with a great history. Keep in mind that you have to run the hot water for a few minutes so it can warm up but that's part of staying in an old place. It's comfortable and there are plenty of things to do and visit.

We stayed overnight after the Burning Snowman Fest in downtown Port Clinton. The location was great and the price was right. Our room had 2 queen beds, a large closet, a small but clean and adequate bathroom, a mini fridge, microwave and a small coffee maker. We weren't made aware at check in that the hotel serves breakfast in a...

I am writing this in retrospect as I apparently forgot to reviews the the time. I have stayed here numerous times and have not once been let down on service, cleanliness, bon amie and/or dining options. Staff are keen to help but are very intuitive about knowing when not to approach, those times such as when diners are chewing or...

I recently stayed a night at the Island House in "downtown" Port Clinton. A historic property, I found the hotel charming. I rated it 4* "Very Good" in comparison to the other hotels in the area in the same price range (I paid $60). For those who will not take it's historic appeal into account, it is pprobaly a 3*...

Our family had our Thanksgiving/Reunion get together at The Island House. Two of us shared a small room, with a queen size bed, 1 end table, refrigerator/microwave, desk and TV. The room suited us just fine for our one night stay. Yes, the hot water took a while to arrive, but it didn't bother us one bit. The hotel staff...

This is the best place to stay in Port Clinton. The hotel is charming: Neat, historic building at the main intersection of downtown and walking distance to most of the city's shops, restaurants, marinas and city parks. Off-peak season rates make this fun place to stay an even better value. I come to this area each month for work -...

The rating is more for the staff than the facility. They were top notch. We needed a locale half way between Detroit and Cleveland, and convenient enough to the bigger airports, via expressways, and the location was perfect. This hotel is celebrating its centennial, so it may not have all of the amenities of a new facility, but that is...

The Island House is our regular stay place when visiting family in PC. When available, we always book the 2nd floor corner room that overlooks the river and lake. This past stay over Thanksgiving was quite disappointing for several reasons: The newly renovated restaurant and bar were "closed for the season". We were there July 4th and it had just...

Hello Cheryl, We are sad to see that we let you down during your stay with us. I do apologize about the housekeeping matter during your stay and I will be discussing this with the housekeeping department at our meeting. As for the restaurant, it is a surprise to us that it decided to become seasonal in their hours. However,...
