Great place to overnight on the way west. This was 8 hours from home. Has good pullthrus that fit a 43 ft with a Jeep in tow without unhooking. OTA TV was enough for us. Sites are flat and level. Owners nice.
We stayed here for the first time the weekend of 5/29/2020 - 5/31/2020. The campground employees couldn't have been friendlier. They only charge $5/bundle for firewood and deliver it right to your site along with fire starter. This was refreshing as many other campgrounds prohibit outside firewood and then price gouge their customers. Additionally, the bathrooms were very clean. We booked last minute so we ended up with site 101 (electric/water pull through), which is right up in front of the park. At first we were disappointed when we saw the site assignment but it ended up working out great as we had some extra room to play cornhole and spread out in general vs. the other sites in our area. Traffic was surprisingly minimal near our site so that was not an issue either. Based on some of the older reviews, I was hesitant to book this KOA but they have really done a nice job with the grounds. I did not see any of the pot holes, large boulders hampering movement of RV's, etc., which other reviews have complained about previously. Some of the amenities (pool, etc) were closed but that was expected due to COVID 19 response/guidelines. Being at the front of the park, we saw the employees working hard all day on landscaping and driving the Gator(s) around performing various tasks. Long story short, we really enjoyed our stay and we will be back!…
We were put with a tent at the first spot in the campground. Do you know how loud, bright, and obnoxious that is? We just wanted to sleep. So we paid the $43 to put up a tent. Maybe you have never stayed in a tent before. Most campgrounds have quieter areas for tents where cars don't drive by incessantly or people walk by constantly. It's better to say you are full than to give a person with a tent the first spot in the campground. Just refund them. If it is not policy it is the decent thing to do. This has been a terrible experience. Sent from my iPhone
Stoney Ridge KOA was a great place to stay for us. I know some have complained about muddiness but let me tell you, they were out in the heat spreading gravel on the sites and the roads. We had bad storms in the area and standing water was not a problem. I understand the owners have recently taken over and they are doing a great job. The bath house was recently remodeled and was in great shape. It was always clean. The sites were very large and easy to maneuver. I have a 42 foot fifth wheel. The owners and workers were very nice too. This is a great place to stop for the night but we were there for a week. We used it as a base camp to go on the many bicycle trails in the area. The place was quiet and the grounds were well maintained. For a private campground, the sites were large. Close enough to the highways to make getting there easy but not near any traffic. Close to stores so if you needed supplies, fuel, groceries, anything, it was very close.…
The Stony Ridge KOA was a welcome place after a long travel day. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The campground was quiet and clean. This is a very nice KOA with several long pull-through sites. We appreciated having a concrete pad under the picnic table. It was a good overnight stop with easy access to the Ohio Turnpike.
