This is almost three months overdue thanks to a serious injury (bike crash/ broken hip/total hip replacement) that happened barely a week after returning home. Anyway... My wife and I had a truly wonderful experience stay at the Ivy Tree Inn at the very beginning of June while we were in Oberlin for a major familhy event. The house is beautifully kept, and the gardens/landscaping weerrrre outstanding--and that is not an exaggeration. We were in the "Front Room" for four nights. It was really nice, with a view out the front window, and our own bathroom. The hosts were excellent--low key, knowledgeable, friendly, and very helpful. Twice we had to leave earlier than the posted breakfast time, and they made adjustments to take care of us each time. We were very grateful--and impressed! The breakfast served was delicious, not typical, and beautifully presented, by the way. Other family groups were at other B&B locations that didn't hold a candle in quality/food/beauty/interaction to ours. There is no reason to get any other place in Oberlin. My wife and I might even arrive a day or two early on our next visit to the family, and not tell them so we can stay at the Ivy Tree Inn. Bravo to the Ivy Tree Inn!…
I booked a stay here to visit my child, who is enrolled at Oberlin College. The house is nicely located just a short walk to campus and Main Street. The rooms, and indeed the entire house, are well appointed with antiques and artwork. Ron and Steve were great hosts and took time to visit with us at breakfast and to make suggestions about things to do in Oberlin and in Cleveland. The breakfasts were varied (especially loved the frittata!) and ample and the coffee was outstanding. I wish we had been here in season to take in the lovely gardens, maybe next time! Thank you for a lovely stay!
I had a very nice stay at the Ivy Tree last weekend. I booked very late as it was a last minute trip to the area, and Ron responded right away. The Inn is a large mid 1800's home with beautiful gardens and well apportioned rooms. Ron accommodated our late night check in, and the sleeping arrangements were very comfortable. Breakfast, quiche with Italian herbs and roasted tomato with fresh fruit and coffee, got us on a great head start the next morning. Overall it was a very refreshing change from the hotels I've stayed at all summer.
One night stay at this charming B&B with lovely garden, killer breakfast and charming rooms complete with robe and toiletries. Easy walking distance to college made it all the more convenient. Hosts were great. The question is, why would one stay anywhere else?
