This old Victorian Lady has all the charm and charisma I look for in a romantic getaway. We stayed in the Victorian Garden suite. The room was nicely appointed, and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was very tasty, with a fruit cup, egg and hash brown casserole, and cheese danish. Vicky and Tim the owners spent over an hour chatting with us after breakfast. We spent part of the evening at the Sandy Ridge Vineyards & Mercantile just outside town. A very nice winery with a nice selection of food. If you are looking for a nice relaxing and romantic stay, I would highly recommend the Victorian Lady Bed & Breakfast.
The owners were fantastic. They answered all my questions promptly before we ever arrived. We stayed in the Carriage House which is a 3 bedroom apartment over the garage in the back. The stairs are a bit steep going up, but everything else was just perfect. The beds & pillows were comfortable. The a/c worked well. The fridge had water when we arrived and the kitchen had dinnerware, silverware, etc, though we didn't need to use any of that. The bathroom had extra towels (though maybe adding a hamper here for dirty linens would be a good idea) and extra shampoos, conditioners, and lotions. Breakfast was delicious. Even though it was downtown Norwalk, we felt like we were miles away from the city. We even saw deer one morning. Really super cool and we would love to stay there again next time we're in town!…
I stayed here in July 2017 with my sister and best friend. The rooms are spacious, clean and the mansion is beautifully decorated. The owners are friendly and accommodating to make sure that your visit is pleasant and enjoyable. Breakfast was a homemade spinach quiche, which was delicious along with juice, yogurt, fruit and baked cinnamon pears which made the breakfast quite memorable. Close to Marblehead Lighthouse, which is a plus on a beautiful summer day! I would stay there again.
The INN is a very lovely place tucked in a small town, but we will not stay there again. We stayed in the Queen Ann Chamber. The room looked like no one had been in there in quite a while. There was dust you could draw in on all of the furniture, cob webs from the sconces on the walls to the bedposts, a light bulb out in the ceiling fan, but none of those compare to the mold in the shower and on the shower head. The coffee in our room had an expiration date of March so we bought our own, coffee stirs were NEVER left in our room and the cereal in the hallway had an expiration date of June 2017. We were the only "guests" there 4 of the 7 nights that we stayed. We requested an early breakfast at 7AM and were asked to change it to 8am, which we did. Two days later another guest was just finishing breakfast as we came down at 7:45 to eat. We never heard music playing as we ate what looked and tasted like food that came out of a box and heated(except for the eggs that were delicious) off the beautiful china and linens. The last two mornings we needed to leave at 6am so we let them know we wouldn't be there for a cooked breakfast. They didn't offer to leave us something like cereal, muffins, or yogurt so we didn't have to go and buy our breakfast somewhere else. After I finally pointed out the mold and expired food on our last day there, she apologized, made her excuses and gave us a refund for 1 night's stay. We will be going back to Norwalk in the future, but we will be staying at the Georgian Manor B&B a few blocks down the street.…
The home is lovely and grand. Beautifully decorated with candle lit breakfast in the morning. The bed was a comfortable king and the double whirlpool bathtub a joy. The hosts, Tim & Vicky were superb people and extremely nice. There is a little refrigerator and iron, iron board in a hallway for use. Coffee pot in each clean room. This is a great place to stay for your wedding or a romantic getaway! Easily walkable to area attractions like restaurants and antique stores.
