This hotel is off the beaten path but that's just the point...It's a hidden and unspoiled gem where high tide rolls right up to the bungalows. Having visited Guatemala for many years, this past March, I decided to explore a part of the country what is largely unknown to both Guatemalans and tourists. It turned out to be a wonderful...

Dear Mrs. Yuman, You, as Guatemalan citizens, living in the USA, thought you didn't need the email information we send to you "how to reach us and get boat service". So you got lost and spent much time to get a boat service. You arrived in Isleta de Gaia very late and in very bad mood.. The first time we...

This place is the worst experience of my Guatemalan stay. They overcharge for everything, room, food, services. The owner is rude and the place is dirty and run down. AVOID! We stayed because once you're there you have no other option but would never go back.

Dear sir, We are quite surprised about your comment. You say you stayed in Isleta de gaia in November 2015, 4 months from today... In November we received few costumers. Most of them wasn't english speakers... and most of them made very good comments about Isleta de Gaia.... "overcharge", rude owner, dirty place... we notice you use exactly the same...

This small, friendly and no-nonsense hotel is the perfect getaway from Guatemala City or hectic life in general. This is not the place if you want to surf or do lots of activities, but perfect for winding down and walking on the beach. Rooms are rustic but have all you need. The bungalows along the beach front have beautiful ocean...

This place is not for everyone, but for us it was perfect. No air conditioning, no TV, no airplanes or traffic sounds. Just the sound of the pounding serf and breeze. Accessible only by boat. A perfect beach is right at the front door, and a small fresh water pool is right in front of your thatch roof cabin. The...

First and foremost, the service is remarkable. The owner showed us that a business transaction, specially for tourism, must be based on mutual trust. In an isolated spot, such as Isleta de Gaia enjoys, money should not be the only measure of economic success. Trust and creative solutions regarding payment works a long way for the owner and for us...

This is a very nice and calm place to relax and enjoy nature, the beach, the breeze, truly recommend it. I stayed in a beachfront bungalow were we slept with our windows open just enjoying the wave sounds and the breeze. It is a marvelous place to disconnect from the city life and connect with nature and meditate. The food...

Charming and simple, this is a magical spot to enjoy sea breezes and surf at the door of your bungalow. The host is friendly, the fresh seafood delicious, and you have the beach to yourself. We walked the entire length of this tiny barrier beach island, watched fisherman at work, spoke with locals, and swam in the comparatively gentle surf....
