Castle is beautiful! Room was clean, comfortable with modern bathroom. We stayed in Queen Victoria room. Ceiling fan and fire place in room. Did not see thermostat so can imagine it would get toasty in the hot months of summer. First night we ate at pub...amazing soda floats! Pub food is that. If I would do it again I would make dinner reservations. The catered breakfast and dinners were amazing! Delicious and the ladies serving were really helpful and friendly! Walked around the property and down a trail. It is located about 20 mins from Hocking Hills. Recommend Old Man’s Cave, Cedar Falls, Ash Cave and Rock House for hiking trails near by! Note: No tv in room and cell service is spotty. Was able to use their wifi and a “community” phone in hall way! The only thing I will mention is that there is a sulfur smell when using the faucets. We had a great stay! Definitely recommend it!

We stayed two nights the third week of April and had a wonderful experience. We chose the Empress Matilda suite with a king bed on the second floor. It was a lovely stay, and we would recommend it to people seeking a quiet, comfortable getaway near Hocking Hills. Pros: Quiet. No TV. Secluded. Must try the BUTTER BEER Comfortable bed and pillows Very clean Super friendly staff Trails through the woods Spacious room with comfortable furniture Pub had a limited menu, but food quality was good. We skipped breakfast the first morning to go hiking early. The second morning we had a wonderful "french toast bake", another high point from the kitchen and friendly staff. Is what it is: Well water with water softener, typical of the area 15-20 minute drive to Hocking Hills attractions No AC in room, but ceiling fan and box fan worked well this time of year with an open window. We think they may install window AC for summer, as we saw that in other rooms from the outside. WiFi was weak in our suite but sufficient for planning our outings and streaming YouTube. Second floor stairs were a challenge after hiking all day and blowing out our middle-aged, post-COVID-no-exercise leg muscles (grin). Everyone wore masks while inside the facility except while eating. Cons: There was nothing we didn’t like. Thinks we didn’t try: Gas fireplace in room We don’t drink alcohol, but they had a wide assortment of craft brews and ales. Nice fire pit King Arthur and Queen Victoria suites are on the first level off the great hall with privacy screen by their door. I think these would be best for ADA access. Shakespeare is also on main level, but there is a tight turn and it is right by the pub stairs with creaky floor boards. Tons of board games, books, DVDs, and CDs. Small gift shop Two options for local pizza delivery We did not have any meals in the great hall. Our stay was Sunday/Monday nights when those meals are for weekends.

Pros: Location- especially in the fall, you just can't beat how gorgeous this is nestled in the woods of Hocking Hills, "A Castle", Staff, Gamers paradise, In-room whirlpool tub and fireplace. They brought our order of Pub food right up to our room- just a small way they stand out on service. You do feel like family to the staff; small town feel. The kids will fall in love. There are little fairy type statues around the cottages that they can find, they provide a scavenger hunt list to you upon check-in (as well as hiking trails nearby), there's a giant chess/checkers board for them, and it's just a very whimsical and fantasy-enriched experience. **Cinderella's Coach House was where we stayed and because it shares a wall with the actual castle, we had wonderful WIFI on our phones. I have Verizon and my husband has Sprint and both worked great. Cons: It isn't really a con, but I would say that it's, a "castle", meaning it looks like one and it's decorated with as much castle-type décor as possible, but it isn't like going to Europe or anything and staying in a real one. As long as you aren't expecting that, you will be totally happy. And the Pub is just quite limited on options of food. If you were staying for more than a weekend, make sure you research places to eat in the area. They also have info there about who delivers, etc. It's just remote and limited.

Two of my adult daughters, my wife and I got away for 3 days and 2 nights. We stayed in one of the cottages across from the castle. The accommodations were fine: comfortable beds, clean bathroom, mini fridge, and the ability to control the building temperature. I really appreciated that we were able to bring different board games to the cottage and return them at our convenience. Breakfast is included in the cost and the menu was slightly different both days (with a hot dish as part of the options). A pub in the castle allows you to also stay and eat lunch/dinner on premise (without having to drive 20-30 minutes to go to a restaurant - and they do have local establishments that deliver as well). Overall, an enjoyable few days away!

We spent our fourth wedding anniversary at Ravenwood Castle, where we stayed in the Clock Tower. Just to get it over with, I will tell you the one thing that we would change: WiFi availability. I am sure that is because of the area and not really an issue with the Castle itself, but WiFi would have been great if it extended out to the cottages. That is it. Everything else was wonderful. My wife has mobility issues, so when we found out that parking was not available right by the cottage, we contacted them a couple of days before our planned arrival. Michaelyn, one of the staff members, went out of her way to measure the distance from accessible parking to the cottage and to the other areas of the castle. Even before we arrived, they were going out of their way to make things perfect! Social distancing was in full practice, as were other precautions. We ate in the pub the first night. The food was good, but the butterbeer floats were amazing. (We even got more the next day!) The employees on duty were extremely nice. One interesting thing that I noticed was that when I ordered something for my wife, the staff then spoke directly to her. That may seem a strange thing to notice, but when my wife is using her wheelchair, people often direct their comments to me rather than her, as if she is unable to order for herself. It is really annoying for us both. (I was just ordering the float for my wife because I thought she had forgotten. I am not one of those people who order for their wives!) Another thing they accommodated for her was that someone carried our breakfast down to our cottage for her when she attempted to get it for us while I was still in bed. It was extremely nice of them. There was a decent selection of DVDs, but when we went into the next town over to get a few things and to go to the Christmas shop, we picked up some DVDs at Goodwill and ended up leaving them for others to use. (Goodwill's selection was not that great, but it's something. ) Everything about the cottage itself was amazing! We will absolutely be back. I cannot say enough about how wonderful this trip was!
