I was a bit apprehensive about this stay given some of the comments on TA. We regularly stay at Red Roof Inn's, so our expectations are set accordingly for no frills budget accommodations. We used this Red Roof to base a vacation for a couple to Cedar Point and I was very happy with the room and the rate. My Excellent Rating is using a rating scale comparing this location to similar budget hotels and other Red Roof Inns. Check in went smoothly, the person at the desk had a challenging customer when I arrived and he handled it exceptionally well and thanked me for my patience. The room (Superior King) was a bit larger than other Red Roofs for that class of room. This property looks to be formerly another hotel chain's property and did not have the latest Red Roof interior design upgrade. But that didn't take anything away from the property as it has several things not offered by most Red Roof Inns (interior hallway room access, continental breakfast, pool/fitness room, etc.). Some TA reviewers complained about the "meager" continental breakfast or the facilities but these amenities are normally not offered at most Red Roof Inns! The facilities were overall a big step up compared to the average Red Roof Inn. The hotel is completely smoke free and had absolutely no odor. Water pressure was great, A/C was great, and the bed was comfortable. We stayed Monday-Thursday and the property was really quiet, we never heard a peep from any other rooms or from the hallway. We received daily bed and towel refresh service and the room was clean. At $76/night mid-week during July (peak Cedar Point tourist season) for a Superior King, I felt the value was extremely good. I've paid a lot more for a lot less at other Red Roof Inn locations. Next time we visit Cedar Point, we will absolutely be back. A few cons: you are charged for the safe whether you use it or not and must request removal of the charge when you check out if you do not use the safe. We used it but I still do not like this tactic. You initial on the document at check in... but if you do not read what you initial or forget at check out, you might be charged extra without your knowledge. It is not a customer friendly tactic. Some may not like that the location is 20 minutes from Cedar Point. We didn't mind that at all but some people will consider that a con. I'd rather save money compared to locations closer along Rt 250 and avoid the busy access road area entirely. On the flip side, you have a huge amount of food options coming/going from the hotel/park.

Rooms were great, and front desk personnel were friendly. Breakfast was good, but food area is small and gets congested easily. Door to enter rooms at the back of the hotel was broken, so access could be made without a key card, which was concerning.

Things started off okay on this 2 night stay. The staff at the front desk was very friendly. The room was a decent size. The breakfast after first night was really crowded though. Not very good selection either. But I'm not really that upset about that. What I found really disgusting was when I went to take a shower on Sunday (today) morning the day of our check out I found really disgusting makeup smeared along the shower curtain and hair in the shower. The final straw was when I was getting out of the shower and reached for a towel and when I opened it there was nasty old makeup from somebody in it. Am I supposed to dry off my body with a dirty towel? This stay only added injury as I was redeeming VIP pass from another Red Roof Inn stay that wasn't very pleasant. I paid for Friday night and Saturday night was "free". The GM that gave me the VIP pass was trying to change my opinion of Red Roof Inn, however he did not succeed. Red Roof Inn it's not me.. it's definitely you.

We stayed here for a couple of nights one week & a couple nights the following week. We were in the area visiting family & this hotel met our needs very well. It truly is pet friendly as they don’t charge for our small chihuahua & they have a nice grassy area for them. The hotel is very clean & staff was great! I highly recommend & we’ll stay there everytime we’re back there. Ps.. Jim’s pizza box (a local restaurant) delivers & has the best pizza!!!

After a long day of driving we were happy to find this nice hotel. The room was clean and comfortable and had all the amenities at a fair price. My only complain was a loose shower curtain rod. But the women at the front desk were very helpful and friendly. We were traveling with our two pets and they had a nice area to walk our pets. It was an unbelievably hot day and we were pleased to not only have a cool room bur even the hall ways were air conditioned. We would certainly stay here again.
