We did not stay here only stopped for lunch while shopping on a getaway weekend. Everyone was very nice. Some menu items seemed a little high. I had a chicken salad crosont. It was good and the persin with me had fried chicken wrap which was good but could have used some type of dressing on it. While there was... More

We have stayed at The Lafayette many times and have had mostly good experiences. This evening we had a very nice stay. We were in Room 405 which is very small but very comfortable. The bathroom has been updated and the noise level in general was fine. Front desk staff is friendly. We enjoyed drinks at the bar while talking... More

This hotel is a fantastic place to stay!! I have visited this locale multiple times over the past 3 years, when I first discovered it! It was all because I travelled 11 hours for the opportunity to see a favorite band and was part of a campaign!! It is comfortable with the feeling of being on a riverboat! There are... More

Myself and two girlfriends stayed at The Lafayette for 6 nights (we are in our early 60's) and we just had the best time. The hotel was super accommodating with simply everything. Any one of the staff was willing to help out in anyway...there was no "I'll get so and so to...." They either did it themselves or got someone... More

I made a reservation based on other reviews saying it was novel period-piece hotel in a nice location by the river. That it was. But I had a bad experience with the front desk staff and the bed in the room was really soft (sank down about eight inches when sitting on the side). They didn't have any other rooms... More

My husband and I traveled to Marietta last weekend for no particular reason. We wanted a short weekend away and Marietta had always been a small Ohio town that I wanted to visit. I looked around a bit on the internet while were driving and came across stories of ghosts and hauntings at the Lafayette so I decided to call... More

We were driving to Chillicothe today and I started thinking about the old Lafayette Hotel we stayed in last night.  It had its heyday in the age of stern wheel paddle boats on the mid continent river system. The natural highway system. The last stern wheeler I saw in New Orleans was the Delta Queen. That got me thinking about... More

I found the older wing, built in the early 1900's to be seemingly untouched since then. There was no where to recharge anything. The wallpaper was coming off the walls, tiles falling off the bathroom walls, black mold on the bathtub caulking and an electrical socket hanging out of the wall. Carpets were dirty and unvaccumed. Curtains unwashed and hung... More

Husband found this place on the Internet while I was taking a turn driving and we were both so glad he did. We booked via Expedia. The only choice was a double bed in a small room. (My cell phone did not jive with the Lafayette website). Once we arrived, we upgraded to a king bed room with a view... More

Just visited Marietta and part of the fun was staying at this great old hotel. Not for those who who like all the bells and whistles--it's for those who appreciate a nicely-maintained historic property. Friendly staff, excellent food. Convenient to the waterfront and downtown Marietta. Great bar. Good value for the dollar. Wi-fi in room.
