Detailed Reviews
We've been going to this Inn for decades. The new owners have added Yurts and Geo Domes. We stayed in the Monarch yurt. The inside is amazing and the accommodations are wonderful. Make sure that you know the person you are staying with extremely well. The walls of the bathroom do NOT go to the ceiling. Personal toileting could be very embarrassing. Otherwise, the bathroom is lovely with a large walk-in shower, vanity with sink and lots of towels. The little kitchenette is perfect with a microwave and a refrigerator with a real freezer. The yurt is surrounded by wild dogwood trees. They weren't in bloom when we were there. The grounds are beautifully maintained and the Kindered Spirits dining room is as it has been for many years, comfortable and peaceful. We had no worries about Covid as the property maintained excellent precautions with the restaurant and the yurt. We also had received our vaccines. The only negative about the Monarch yurt was the temperature inside. The outside temperature was 80 degrees and inside was 80 degrees for about 5 hours. The AC did not cool the yurt until the sun went down, and it was set at 68 degrees. The ceiling fan is not balanced in this yurt, so it clicks and clicks and clicks until you can't stand it and have to turn it off. Other than those two things, we had a great time and wonder breakfasts and satisfactory dinners. The wine and drinks were lovely and the wait staff is the nicest we have encountered in very long time.

We had a lovely get-away in the dog friendly cottage, Goldenrod. Upon arrival there were treats for both humans and pet! There were a few housekeeping issues initially, but these were made right by management and staff, which we greatly appreciated.
In my opinion the cottage we were in needed a little TLC. The toilet seat was yellowed and worn. It really needed replaced. Some of the artwork in this cottage, was, well cheap looking. Less would be more here by removing painting over bed and a few of the bathroom pieces. Just looked like they came from a swap market or grandma’s cast-offs. The robes in cottage were super comfy and coffee tea was plentiful which we really liked. The views are pretty but lots of dead trees should be removed to make it more attractive. The best feature in my husband’s opinion was the swing under shelter so he could sit there with his coffee in the rain. That was memorable!
Lodge is attractive with fall landscaping and decor but drive entrance to both cottages and special event drives have really big pot holes. These need fixed.

We spent a weekend in the Moonstone Geodome and had the best weekend. It is such a unique stay and the modern amenities really help the overall experience. The grounds are beautiful and the included breakfast was delicous. The cooks were the most welcoming staff on the entire property. We were able to do all 7 hiking sights within a day and a half and this location is supreme in that you have easy access to the trailheads. My husband had a massage at the spa, and though it was booked for 60 minutes, they start the clock as soon as you walk in. I found that disappointing since a 60-minute massage should be a 60-minute massage - not 50 minutes. Also, I do think the Geodomes are slightly overpriced at around $359 a night. Despite those two items, I would recommend the experience.

We went down for a long weekend over valentines and did not have any particular expectations. We stayed in the Bittersweet Cottage. We opened the door and fell in love with the little cottage. They thought of everything, small refrigerator and microwave plus plates, cups, coffee maker, coffee, tea, silverware and even a little table. Two really comfy rocking chairs, a gas fireplace, jetted tub, nice shower and large bathroom. They even put a filtered water tap in since it is on well and tends to have a sulfer odor to it. This little cottage also had a stellar view of woods, woods and more woods. Yes there are other cottages close by but not so close you feel put upon by your neighbors. The restaurant was out of this world for both dinner and breakfast and the staff were helpful and friendly. At the spa we had an incredible couples massage. Tracy and Amy were top notch. The grounds are lovely and so close to Hiking at Hocking Hills State park it was easy to not miss TV. If you go know that there is NO cell service, no TV at least in the cottages although you can get wi fi I think it is a great opportunity to turn it all off. I highly recommend and will go back soon

We stayed in the Sumac cottage over Labor Day weekend. Although we arrived fairly late for check-in, the staff was very friendly & accommodating.
Things we liked:
Great service & amazing complimentary breakfasts at Kindred Spirits, the Inn's onsite restaurant. It also boasts a beautiful, cozy & rustic log cabin design.
Private driveway at cottage & stairway to restaurant nearby
Clean & fairly spacious room w/king size bed
Clean, spacious & private rear deck w/swinging bench
Spacious bathroom w/unique shower
Things we thought could be improved upon:
Room felt damp/musty, probably because our cottage was in a mostly shaded area. A dehumidifier would've definitely helped!
Kitchenette & dining area felt cramped
No TV

We did not have reservations so we went early and got seated immediately in the enclosed patio. After a day of hiking, we were hungry for good food in a relaxed but comfortable atmosphere. This was perfect. The warm whole wheat multi grain bread with butter was excellent. Because the temperatures were dropping into the mid 50s, beef mushroom barley soup sounded great and it was, Large chunks of tender beef and mushrooms in a rich beef broth was so tasty. For the main course: we had the maple bourbon glazed salmon and the pan seared scallops: Absolutely delicious and the portions were large. We really did not have room for dessert, but ordered the berry cobbler and will have it again next time we return.

I chose the Inn at Cedar Falls for its proximity to the hiking trails in Hocking Hills State Park. As we were only able to spend one night I wanted to stay in the park. I am not a Cabin person. However the Inn Bed and Breakfast rooms have been converted to Spa Service rooms during a pandemic remodel. So...we tried the cabin. Our cabin was nicely appointed with a comfortable queen sized bed, a kitchenette with microwave and small refrigerator, a hot tub and sitting area. There was also a small deck overlooking the wooded area behind the cabin. Outside was a communal fire ring, which would be nice for a group traveling together. I was a little concerned by the signs in the room warning you that you may have to wait for hot water if you use the hot tub or take showers in sequence. There was also a note saying to use a flyswatter if there are bugs. Breakfast was included in the price of the cabin. It is served in the Inn's restaurant, Kindred Spirits, which is a bit of a walk through the woods from the cabins. There is a parking area across the road if you want to drive. I thought that the cost was a bit high for the cabin. Given the same circumstances I would stay there again because of the location.

My husband, son and I stayed at the Redbud cabin for 4 nights and it was an enjoyable stay. The 2 bedroom 2 bath and layout was perfect for us so we weren’t on top of each other all the time. Our cabin was very clean with nice quality linens. We liked the secluded feeling of the cabin even though there were other cabins down the road. We even had a deer peek into our window one night. The cabin is in a convenient location if you want to access the many hiking trails.
We picked up breakfast daily from Kindred Spirits and it was fantastic. There is a nice variety to choose from. We utilized the kitchen quite a bit for our other meals.
The only issue we encountered was the smelly water. When you turn on the faucet you’re immediately hit with the smell of rotten eggs. From what I understand it seems to be an issue in the Hocking Hills area, but still hard to get used to.

We stayed for a long weekend in one of the new geodomes on the property and were very happy we did. Almost to the back of the property, the domes are easily accessible with a paved path and carts to help you carry your things. The domes are clustered together, just close enough to be seen, but not close enough to intrude.
Our dome (and I believe the others) have a small deck with two chairs and a small table. We took advantage of this a few times during our stay, bringing the provided breakfast back to have it on the desk one morning.
The grounds are very nice with a small walking path to get around, hammocks, chairs, a fire ring for the evenings, and a small flower garden with a bench and seats. There is a small gift store with beverages and some snacks on property as well as a full restaurant, bar, and a rooftop garden above the restaurant.
Inside the bed is very comfortable, the small kitchen was nice to have, including the small refrigerator and coffee maker that did not require filters. a sitting area at then end of the bed gives a nice view of the outdoors, and a small table and chairs would provide a small dining space if it was raining or just another sitting area. One interesting thing was no television in the geodome - and actually it was nice to not have it.

Really wonderful stay in the Katydid yurt for a solo glamping retreat! The yurt is very well turned out, with creative use of the space. The private deck with Adirondack chairs was amazing - there’s enough foliage between yurts that you feel totally secluded. Lovely little fireplace and rocking chairs perfect to cozy up in at night in one of the robes (seriously how can I get one of these??).
The food at the restaurant was about what you’d expect for rural Ohio. I packed a lot of snacks (and wine) and that was the right move. I also had lunch at the Hocking Hills Lodge, which was decent - though I’m very glad I chose the much quieter Cedar Falls over the lodge!!
I had a massage at the spa, which was very nice, but there didn’t seem to be any other “spa” amenities - no steam room, etc. Book early!
Location can’t be beat, minutes away from multiple trail heads helps you beat the traffic on a busy weekend.
Perfect serene getaway! Would definitely repeat.

Yes! We have amazing wifi on the entire property. It is fast enough for all guests to stream on their devices, work or just surf the internet.
I’d say couples since there’s just one bed. But there may be other options available🙂
Bathrooms are fine. Private. Very acceptable.
We didn't increase prices for 2017. However, we do have a weekday and weekend rate and peak and off season. In addition, we use Yield Management just like the airlines do. Our rates do fluctuate based on our occupancy. Our packages offer nice rates, you might want to check those out.
The trees appear to be doing fine. Unfortunately, in the country, mice can always show up. But, our guests haven't mentioned any problems.
