After we first arrived and got set up everyone kind of Panicked for a few Hrs. ( Due to No Cell service or WIFI ) Then I Suggested to the Kids " What if we do what they did in the Olden days " 15-20 yrs ago Lol and actually Camped and did stuff together , After a Lil hesitation , It Happened , Kids were playing in the Creek Catching Crawdads , Playing Frisbee , Ect. and Now everytime I Mention anything about Going Camping That is One of the 1st. Places the kids want to go , They Love it and Only one time and Only one kid asked about The Go Karts , Great place I Highly Recommend ! And the Questions Below ask about a Hotel , They do have Cabins But I have NEVER stayed in one I Go Camping , Not Cabining !!
Love this place. The swimming and the slides. Kids had a great time. We rented a cabin and grandkids love the whole experience. They want to come again so hope to see you in the summer of 2020. Hopefully in July.
We arrived in a rainstorm. Camp people would not escort us to a site, as usual, because it was nearly empty. They just gave us a map and pointed down a long hill. We had our choice of many equally muddy sites—no gravel, no concrete bed, just mushy, muddy ground. The campground offers no WiFi and the 3/4/5G network doesn’t know about Latham. Good luck getting weather reports without Internet service. The bathrooms don’t even have soap and towel/blowers. It is BYOTowel, apparently. We will avoid this place in the future, even though it is the best option for visiting Serpent Mounds.
Fun time camping at Long's, basketball, ice cream, pizza, go carts & Putt Putt Golf. If you have small kids, their is a mini play area for them and a great Splash Pad. Swimming passes can be purchased for non campers as well as daily passes for campers, very clean and very nice staff.
Overall experience was great. Staff is awesome and knowledgeable. Round the clock security with EMT's on staff for emergencies. Downfall ambulance response time is 30+ minutes, however EMT's on staff do a great job and friendly. Lots of things for the family to do, beach, water slides, putt putt golf, go carts, arcade, baseball field, volleyball and basketball courts, Kids area with carousel and bounce house, train ride, ATV park 2 miles down the road. Golf cart rentals, canoe and paddle boat rentals and play grounds. Well stocked store with beer reasonably priced, movie rentals, ice cream, concession areas with good food including pizza. If you forget to bring firewood, they sell it also. Only thing you have to watch out for, is the deputy that drives around in an orange kabota. Stay away from him, he has a serious attitude problem. Found out from the security staff that he is just one of the security guards there. If I were in charge of things, he would not be aloud back on the property unless he changed his attitude. My family will definitely return to camp.…
