My husband an I booked the Paul Francis Suite for our anniversary and could not have been more delighted with our choice. The home and our room were lovely. There is a cozy deck right on the water located across the road from the house which provided a perfect spot for reading. Dave, our host extraordinaire, not only cooked the most delicious breakfasts, but he served late afternoon Sangrias and performed on his guitar as we lounged on the front deck of the home. If you are planning a trip to Kelley's Island, do yourself a favor and consider staying at this B&B.

First of all there are not enough words to come close to describing our wonderful host DAVE. He delighted us with his musical skills in the evening on the porch. He was knowledgeable about everything on the Island. Our check in and out was smooth. The rooms were very clean. Dave makes the best Sangria's ever in the afternoon!! The food was without a doubt the most luscious breakfast I've ever had the privilege of experiencing!!! A great deal of time and effort was made preparing this for all the guests!! It was the most relaxing get away I have ever had. I would highly recommend this B&B to anyone looking for a first class B&B. I plan on returning again next year. Keep up the good work!!!

We had the pleasure of staying over the last weekend of the season. The weather wasn't great, but we had the whole house and (at least it felt like) the entire island to ourselves. I think the name of the suite we stayed in was the Paul Lawrence? If I'm being honest, the room- especially the bathroom needed updating for the price. The shower tiles were badly in need of replacement, and the jetted bathtub is always a little dubious in terms of frequency of cleaning. We did have an issue with getting hot water the first night, but it was fixed the next morning (I think that they did winterizing for the end of season and didn't get everything back on). The gas fireplace was also not working, but the house itself was adequately heated. Amenities were small bath and body works products. Conditioner was not included in our room, but the other rooms were left open since we were the only guests and I found one in there. This also came in handy when we ran out of toilet paper late one evening. What was "meh" about the room was more than made up for with hospitality. The breakfasts were amazing and a clear highlight, as were the evening snacks and sangrias. Our host recommended several trails and locations to visit and we took full advantage. We spent about an hour the first day in a hidden spot by the lake watching waves on the north side of the island. Spending the late afternoon playing games in the parlour over cheese and sangria was another highlight. After a rough few months dealing with and processing a serious medical diagnosis, this was exactly the retreat we need. We noticed that the building was listed for sale. I'm not sure what that means for the future of this bed and breakfast, but if it stays the same we would definitely visit again in the future.

My wife and I had a weekend trip planned, and due to factors outside of management control, the house was suddenly unavailable while critical repairs were underway. However, Waters Edge was able to find a great alternate location for us on the island and paid all lodging costs. We were still able to enjoy our vacation! I was very impressed with how the situation was handled.

We are staying temporarily in Port Clinton and did a weekend getaway to A Water's Edge. The trip was lovely and we had a perfect room with an amazing view. Our host, Tim, was very kind and hospitable and offered us rides into town on several occasions. He was a great source of information on the island and both Tim and his son were very helpful from the moment we considered booking. The place itself is charming and the afternoon sangria, cheese and crackers, sitting out on the porch is a treat. We hope to return someday!
