Worst hotel I ever stayed at. Rooms were small, dated, dirty, smelled musty. This place hasn’t been renovated in many years. Rumor is they are going to renovate. They need to tear it down. Charged over 200 bucks a night, wasn’t worth 59.99. Contacting Better Business Bureau about false advertising. None of the amenities were available.

Tried calling and could not get through to discuss our visit so here I am writing this review. The rooms were very dirty, musty and smelled so bad had to go to Dollar General and buy air freshener and Lysol disinfectant for all rooms. Very little wait staff or food options (told they were all out) in the dining room, TV in our room did not work and was told that there were no maintenance people on staff to fix or replace it. We were offered another room in a totally different building away from the rest of our group but that they could not guarantee that it would be any better than the room we currently had. No refund or discounted rate was ever offered.

The staff, location and food were great. The rooms are damp, smelly and in great need of updating. The beach and lake front and within walking distance but not viewing distance. The bike are not ride-able. for $200.00 a night they need to do A lot better. The ground are large, the pools are older by clean and working.

First, let me say that the resort grounds are pretty large. I actually like the golf course. Played 9 holes with a cart for $20 and was pretty happy with the course, although the bunkers are pretty bad and the greens have tons of unfixed ball marks. Came here to stay solely because my son's travel baseball team was playing a tournament and the fields were a 5 minute drive. The entire hotel is EXTREMELY outdated. It looks like it has had no updating in 20 years or more. My group staying agreed most of the rooms had bad odors. The carpet appeared to be very dirty. The shower was actually pretty clean, but had no shower curtain so I had to call and ask for one. The beds were extremely soft, small for 2 people and made a lot of noise when you get in and out of them. For $190 per night, they are only able to charge this because Cedar Point is close by as well, as the large baseball complex down the road. Otherwise, this is $89 per night at most. The tennis courts did not have nets up, had weeds growing through the pavement, many many pot holes driving up the entrance and in the parking lot, and the front entrance landscaping is growing weeds everywhere. Some of the positives that earned them the second star were the golf course, breakfast buffet option, indoor and outdoor pool and the shuttle they offer to their private beach on the lake. The indoor pool needs a jacuzzi hot tub. It looks like it used to have one, but now is just a small pool. As a "resort," and I use the word loosely, everything closes mid day between 2:00 and 5:00pm. That is ridiculous. They charge you for your room in advance, you can not charge anything to your room, have to pay cash int he hotel at the gift shop, and don't have the bar open until the evening. They also at checkin failed to provide us with our breakfast vouchers. This was difficult to deal with but after speaking with the manager, had refunds for some of our families. Last, some of the ice machines were broken. Overall, there is no way I would come here again other than to play golf.

Just stayed here for 3 nights for conference. Apparently Cedar Point has recently bought the place and is planning major renovations. These are definitely needed - things are very dated, and service has been spotty at best. Golf course is in disarray and needs attention. It's mid-july, and there are plenty of vacancies here - not a good sign.
