Unfriendly owner, not a good characteristics this business. Our small cottage at $75 bucks a day for 3 nights should have had a coffee pot at the very least. No fridge (we could rent one for $12 a day), no coffeepot (the owner offered one from storage that was dirty, dusty and cobweb covered). And he accused our friends of burning their carpet; charging them $500 before even talking to them. The only good thing about this place is its proximity to Cedar Point....there are many other places to choose from. Pass this one by!

I have been staying here every summer for the last 25 years. It is a great place. If you like retro, you will enjoy it. The owners are very friendly. It has a Swedish feel to it; like being on the Baltic Sea.

We had a really bad experience here this past weekend. We booked 3 rooms for a family vacation. When we showed up, one of the rooms was disgusting: hair on the bed, bed stains, huge spiders, and a super-strong smoke and mildew smell. One of our family couldn't even stand in the room for more than a few minutes without having severe allergies. Since we had booked as a group, we asked for our money back and were told they would only give us a refund on the ONE gross room. They wanted to charge us over $400 total for the other two rooms since the owner Todd said there was a firm cancellation policy (which by the way isn't available on the website, nor are there viewable terms and conditions during the booking process online). The owner wouldn't budge even when we explained the situation (that we were on vacation and wanted to all stay together as a group). We ended up having to split our family up and stay in multiple places because we couldn't afford to pay for double hotels. My advice: avoid this place, or at least see your room before you commit to their heavy-handed operation.

We stayed at this Plantation Hotel during Sandusky Bike Week this year (2019). Todd is the owner who is very friendly & accommodating - the rooms were clean & A/C worked - was a great place to stay. I would highly recommend this Hotel - they also have a very clean pool. Sometimes we have expected to use a pool at other hotels only to find out it was being serviced & not open to swim, which is very disappointing. You will not be disappointed staying here - they have a great selection of rooms including cottages which are very sweet - rooms for good prices!! PEARL P. LOUISVILLE, OH
