After a long day's drive it was such a pleasure to stay at Ormiston House. Beautiful historic property within easy walking distance of the Strahan waterfront. Mike and Caroline were very generous hosts with a great knowledge of the local area. The rooms were cosy and had everything I needed. I'd love to come back and see the garden in... More

I cannot say enough good things about this property. Husband and I arrived and before we were even out of the car, the owner Caroline was out at the car greeting us and welcoming us to Ormiston House. That was our first lovely surprise. As we were ushered through the front door, it was like stepping back in time. This... More

We stayed at Ormiston House for three nights in late July. The highlight of our eight day Tasmania holiday was these three nights. Unfortunately Carolyn was away and we did not get to meet her however Mike looked after us as if we were family. We stayed In Christina, a lovely room at the front of the house with views... More

In all honesty words fail me when it comes to writing this review as one capturing both the truth and the simply brilliant time I have had on multiple occasions at Ormiston House. Perhaps the simplest way is to recall the events of our visit. One is first struck with the sheer beauty and grandeur of Ormiston House after rounding... More

Orminston House is incredible. It is so beautiful and old that I'd have happily paid to do a tour, instead we got to stay there. Carolyn and Mike were the perfect hosts (don't miss out on an evening drink in the bar - it was one of the highlights of our trip), the bed was super comfy and warm and... More

Carolyn & Mike were the consumate hosts. Every little detail was charmingly taken care of. If you're a fan of freshly plunged coffee or boutique tea, accompanied by deliously warm croissants for breakfast, then this gorgeous federation manse is for you.

From arrival to departure, our stay at Ormiston House was outstanding. This beautifully restored old house close to the sea has large comfortable bedrooms with en suites and extensive gardens in a quiet area close to the centre of Strahan village. They offer a good fresh continental breakfast, and there are excellent restaurants near by. From the warm welcome of... More

Great Hospitality from the owners. Carolyn and her husband prepared with a lot attention our breakfast. They guide us to go to visit the small and picturesque village, we have had a beautiful 2 days thanks to them. Thank you very much. We will come back.

Awesome antique home, beautiful big bedrooms and charming hosts. Situated in the rugged NW in the roaring forties, Strahan. The World Heritage Tour is a must, I travelled to the Gordon Franklin and saw trees in rainforest that are amazing. Sarah Island on the tour showed what a miserable life early convicts as well as their keepers endured. Well worth... More

Glad you liked our 'little house by the harbour'. A beautiful House and a great history and agree, a cruise on the mighty Gordon River and visit to Sarah Island is a must amongst all those things to do here. Thank you for your kind words and taking the time to write regards Carolyn More
