Charming from the outside, I think this BnB's glory days have passed. The common rooms are in quite good condition but we were disappointed with our room. It had a musty smell and dated curtains and bedspread. It wouldn't take much to update them. The bathroom was dated as well. It was a 10-15 minute walk to the centre of... More

Lovely old renovated mansion with very comfortable rooms and amenities. Charming hosts who go out of there way to assist and provide a magnificent breakfast each morning. Close to centre of town and very reasonably priced. Recommended.

The manor house is an excellent B&B, really well appointed and superbly hosted. Its location enables you to walk into town in around 10 minutes and within a couple of minutes drive are the cruise boats, steam trains and the "not to be missed" Ship That Never Was . Although breakfast is continental, there are multiple choices. The property is... More

Parking: On site. Food: Breakfast was taken in the dining room. A selection of continental and hot savoury options were offered. Food was tasty, portion sizes were adequate. Overall Impression: Well situated... More

A beautiful old manor house, fully restored, good place to stay to do a Gordon River trip and the steam train to Queenstown. Charming energetic host, disappointed no dining room, plenty of room for one, very good breakfast, lovely fresh ingredients, lots of healthy choices but not a cooked breakfast, would be nice not to have to drive out again... In our opinion, Franklin Manor is the epitome of what a BnB should be. The house is large and well-appointed with period, but comfortable, furniture both in the rooms and the common areas. The hostess is a delightful woman who clearly enjoys what she does. The location relative to the small town of Strahan is just right (and this west-coast... More

This is a lovely heritage property in the heart of Strahan. We were made welcome by Christine straight away and shown to our lovely room. Breakfast was very nice with the local ducks saying hello just outside. Highly recommend this B&B!

This facility is managed in a very professional way. It provides very good accommodation that has everything a weary traveller requires. Comfortable beds, very clean and excellent breakfasts. Possibly one of the best accommodation's in Strahan. John Roseblade
