The long two hour drive west from the Mackay Airport has given us time to recall the best bits of our Tassy holiday on the way home. Our stop over at the quaint Touchwood Cottages nestled at the base of the Nut in the seaside historical township of Stanley was a favourite highlight of our six days in Tasmania. We... More

We were booked into Touchwood Cottages for our first two nights in Tasmania. What a beautiful way to start a holiday. Gretta and Chris have thought about everything. Fruit, port, chocolates and the fridge stocked with breakfast provisions - not to mention making a dinner reservation for us on our first night. Gretta and Chris are amazing hosts who go... More

Stayed in the Pines cottage for 3 nights on an off peak deal. We found it to be a very pleasant place to stay, warm, cosy and well appointed with great views. The proprietors provided a very generous supply of provisions. Delicious muffins provided on arrival, along with a hearty supply of breakfast provisions, comprehensive cheese board and an excellent... More

What a slice of heaven. Our cottage was filled with tasty delights such as home made jams, fresh fruit & plunger coffee. We were met buy owners, Chris & Gretta, with such a welcoming manner & immediately offered a complimentary coffee from their gorgeous cafe. The attention to detail in the cottage along with the view of the beach from... More

We stayed for 3 nights and loved it. We had the Studio Apartment which was excellent and made our stay most enjoyable. Greta and Chris were great hosts and certainly know how to look after their guests. It was like a home away from home and would certainly recommend it. WiFi was good and the Scones and Irish Cream Cheesecake... More

Thank you Greta and Chris for your friendly and warm hospitality. While on our honeymoon we loved staying in your gorgeous little Pines Cottage with a view over the beach and a mezzanine floor with a bed with beautiful linen. We only stayed one night here in Stanley but it was wonderful. We arrived much later than expected but notes were left for us and the key was in the door. The cottage could not have been better situated or more picturesque. Fruit, port and chocolates were waiting for us on arrival and the view was the best and we... More

Looking for a breath of fresh air? If so, you can't beat the quaint little seaside village of Stanley on Tasmania's North West Coast. With its whistling wind and gorgeous countryside, Stanley is the ideal base for exploring all the natural beauty and attractions the region has to offer. Noted for its friendliness and warm hospitality Touchwood Cottages are situated in the heart of Stanley and are the perfect place to relax and unwind. There is an excellent cafe on-site using an abundance of local fresh produce open six days of the week and some evenings. A design Gallery and gift shop, choc full of Tasmanian product, complete the small complex which, with its cobble stone walkways and old street lamps, is reminiscent of an English scene! All three cottages are 4 star rated and decorated in a colonial style blended with modern touches. They are well appointed, full of character and charm and extremely comfortable. All are fully self-contained. We are located within a stone's throw of the beaches, eateries, attractions & shops.
