We were booked for one night at Pol and Pen Cottage, but were delightfully upgraded to the Spa Cottage. What a beautiful place; overlooking the harbour, across the road from Moby Dick's for breakfast! This is a well furnished historic house with three bedrooms and everything you might need. Electric blankets were just perfect on a cold night and the... More

We opened the door of the Green House and felt like we had stepped back in time. What a beautiful cottage. It was just how I imagined it would be, warm and welcoming. I couldn't wait to go and look out of the windows in the top floor bedrooms. This cottage has all that you need. Some modern touches and... More

Abbeys The Green House in Stanley is an acquired taste we feel but fine for a few days. Stanley is a beautiful little town with amazing sea views either side of the peninsula and the “Nut”, large rock at the head. This sleepy little town (completely dead after 8pm) would make a great base for two to three days with... More

Towards the end of a 2 week travelling holiday around Tasmania and we wanted to return to this out of the way sleepy historic village. Stanley didn't disappoint. Just charming with nice shops and restaurants plus "The Nut" (which was literally in the back yard of Abbey's Cottage) a stand out. The cottage itself is an old mid 1800's workers... More

Wonderful accommodation - so comfortable and very spacious. The house is of historic interest and the furnishings are just fabulous. Lovely garden and peaceful surroundings. Handy location Can highly recommend - we really enjoyed our two nights stay and only wish it could have been longer.

Stayed in one of Abbey's Cottages 3 yrs ago, cannot fault the accommodation, heaters were going on arrival and everything was just great. We stayed in a cottage on Church St, our only complaint was $180 p/n was far too expensive.

This is like staying in a Victorian bed and breakfast except you have the whole house to yourself! There are 3 bedrooms, 3 living spaces, and enormous kitchen and garden. It is very comfortable and full of history of the family who lived there for decades. Stanley information centre is a few doors away and has helpful staff and free... More

We stayed at Abbey's on the Terrace in Church Street. It is a lovely, large cottage with big kitchen and open plan living and two generous sized bedrooms (queen and two singles) as well as laundry, modern bathroom and toilet. The place is worth it for the view alone as it has 180 uninterrupted degree views of the water (there... More

Our self contained cottage overlooked the bay. It had everything we needed. Great views, large well appointed kitchen, plush period bedrooms, fire place, washing machine / dryer and in close proximity to the town centre. Recommended

Whenever we go back to Stanley, we will stay here. Comfortable beds, great unit. The kitchen had everything in it including cling wrap, alfoil and also a decanter of port! So very thoughtful with these small but important details. We sat at our breakfast table and was able to see the ocean, what a treat.
