We have been staying at this hotel for over 10 years. We never require our room to be serviced during our stay. It is in a great location and we often have stayed for two or three nights. We don't eat in the restaurant as we do not eat deep fried food. On our last visit the cleaning staff knocked... More

While the resort is about 50 years old, the rooms have been updated and very clean. Beautiful beach views from every room. The dining room is of a high standard with a good menu choice. Would stay there again.

We had booked 3 rooms as to accomodate the owner by not being able to supply to us a family room. He did not even want to help us with details and directly hypocritical to what was said to me about organisation as what he told my wife and her official entourage Reminded me of a true life Faulty Towers... We had 2 nights at the Scamander Hotel Motel on our recent trip to Tassie. It is set back a little from the main road and has great views over the sea. There is a large carpark at the back. The owners are very nice and trying to get the place going again. Our room was spacious and clean. The... More

We visited the five spice restuarant while in town for the night. I ordered the pork belly with mash and veggies. Totally disgusting, the pork belly was like a slither of pork that had been cooked and reheated and it was well and truely past its use by date, I couldn't even stab it with my fork it was that... The location right on the water was perfect, but the apartment was a bit disappointing, particularly for the price. The kitchenette was run down, couch very worn and tired looking. It was, however, a good size as was the bathroom. The owner/manager was very pleasant and did give us a discount which was appreciated.

We stayed here a few days ago and the first impression is that it was something special in its hey day circa 1970 and nothing has been maintained since. Such a shame a lovely view but the hotel is not worth rating at all smelly the entry carpark was badly maintained as was the rest of the place with a... More

We stayed overnight as a last minute drop in. The reception staff member was polite and efficient however the motel itself needs a bit of an overhaul and is overpriced for what it offers. The hallways are dingy and need a coat of paint, lighting outside our room was not working, bathroom mouldy and in need of a good clean.... More

We had a basic roast dinner, value for money was very bad. Flavour was non existent, the meat was so over cooked and very little vegetables. We were asked what we thought by the staff, well below average. Breakfast - continental was included, the cereals tasted very stale, no fruit or yogurt provided. The next night we could not get... Very friendly welcome at reception and unfortunately that's as far as the positives go. The room was one of the oldest i've experienced in traveling and i felt like leaving my shoes on as the carpet was so grimy. On arrival I found the fridge door was stuck open, being jammed on the wooden cabinetry, thus the beverages, milk etc... More
