The Huon Bush Retreats are just idyllic. They’re truly beautiful places and really well set up for visitors, while leaving as little impact as possible on the surrounding areas. Amazing place to stay and highly recommended

We stayed in the Clifftop cabin for two nights in March for a small retreat getaway for my birthday. This cabin is a quiet sanctuary for those who want to unplug from daily life. We spent our days hiking the beautiful fern draped walks and nights by the fireplace. The bath on the deck was a delightful addition. With not a soul in sight you can sit in the bath and watch the world float past contemplating shapes in clouds. Highly recommended for those that wish to endulge in private eco living. X

It was literally a breath of fresh air to walk along the beautiful Mt Misery track. The smell of eucalyptus and the shafts of early morning light through the trees made all the dramas of daily life disappear. The vegetation, geology, wildlife and magnificent vistas would provide inspiration to any lover of the Australian bush, photographer or artist. It is also a fun way to keep fit! I encourage people to take a walk at Huon Bush Retreats. There are options available for various levels of ability (and provide a small donation towards track maintenance)

Hi CathyT, Thanks for visiting the Mount Misery Walk at Huon Bush Retreats. Yes, the shafts of early morning light are a visual reward for an early start. Great to read that you enjoyed the geology (as well as the other features). So many people overlook the underlying structure. Glad that you enjoyed it. Thanks for the 5 dot review Paul D

Had a great 2 night stay camping in this magical spot. Beautiful grounds, well run and well maintained. Easy to see the place is well loved. Gives one a feel of being close to nature. Unfortunately due to the nearby bush fires we were unable to do the walks and trips we had intended. Luckily Mt. Misery and other walks were still open. Paul was very helpful in keeping us informed and assuring us of the fire status. If you fancy a bush nature experience then huon bush retreats would be perfect. Highly recommend.

Hi TT, Thanks for your visit and 5 dot review :) Glad that you enjoyed "...being close to nature.." and that you enjoyed the onsite Mount Misery Walk. Hopefully we will see you again sometime when Tasmania is not being affected by fire smoke. The current wild fire situation is the longest running in Tasmania's recorded history. We are still open for business but on fire watch to be sure to keep our guests safe. Paul D

We have just stayed for two nights and days in Cliff Top Cabin and all four of us can’t praise it enough. It was almost like being in a tree house. We had pademelon visitors, also a possum who I believe is called Velvet with her daughter. We hiked up to Mount Misery - a lovely walk. The cabin is very spacious, was spotlessly clean and equipped with everything you need. In all, a very welcome ‘retreat’ from the day to day pressures of life. My husband and I were visiting my sister and brother-in-law who live in Hobart and we organised this little break as a treat for them, we come from England.

Hi Maddy, Glad that you enjoyed our "... retreat from the day to day pressures of life...". People such as your group, who like peace and nature, love it here. Good to hear that you met Velvet, the brushtail possum. We raised Velvet from an orphan a few years ago. She has a lovely personality and likes to sit on my shoulder. Thanks for your visit and 5 dot review :) Paul D
