Recently stayed due to attending a Wedding locally. The business seems to have been recently refurbished and looks great. We appreciated that the hotel managers , who were very helpful throughout our stay, allowing us to check in early so we could change for the wedding and assisting with directions Great stay overall and I would definitely recommend it.

Lovely place to stay and relax for a night. Very friendly and helpful hostess and yummy food. Lots of local products support and the best pumpkin soup I've ever had. Clean and tidy room and love that heritage style. There's some nice bush walking and beach not far away from Geeveston and if you are lucky you can also see...

We were staying elsewhere in town, and recommended to this place as one of the two dining options in town. Nice cosy decor, with fire in winter. Mainly offering tapas, with a couple of main course options. We tried the local salmon and a penne dish; both were enjoyable, but the salmon could have been improved at little cost by...

Put a night at Geeveston during our 2 week Tassie road trip & this place has definitely exceeded our expectations in every way! Vintage setting with modern amenities- bedroom/bathroom were very clean & well maintained (nice heated shower & electric blanket); service here was even better! The new owners here (as of late 2016) really made a difference with their...

Visited for dinner we weren't staying at the bear but elsewhere. We went along to the Bear on a recommendation. We weren't disappointed great meal real home style quality meal with good attentive service. The lamb shanks were well presented and beautifully cooked as were the accompanying vegetables, an added bonus was a bread roll included with the meal. The...

Helpful owners. close to all amenities. They even hung out my hiking gear to dry. I stayed here after an exhausting 5 day trek in the South West World Heritage area. The bar is good, free barista coffee made by the owner himself. Helpful family run business.

Hi Stuart, I am very sorry that you had such an unpleasant experience with us and that you misunderstood our booking policies when you booked. We clearly state on all of our booking sites and our website that we are guest accommodation or boutique accommodation NOT a bed and breakfast. Cute, quaint boutique hotel. Comfortable bed. Advertised as $100 per night for two people on the website including continental breakfast, however is actually $110 for two people without breakfast. Wifi advertised but extremely slow in our room.

Exquisitely fresh, perfectly cooked and beautifully presented by the owner. We had lunch with Reisling in front of the fire. Then we went for our walk up in the Hartz Mountain. Huon Valley is the pick of places in Tasmania.

Thank you for your kind review, we appreciate that you took the time to review us and are very happy to hear you enjoyed your meal. Our salmon comes fresh from Huon aquaculture, just down the road, and has never seen a freezer. We love the Huon Valley, and the Hartz is one of our favourite getaway walks so it...
