This would be the best hotel I have ever experienced, in terms of service, attention to detail, food, spectacular views, staff and more. We have stayed in plenty of luxury resorts around the world, and I can say with hand on heart that I have not come across anything like this. As a comparison, Wolgan Valley (sorry!) and similar resorts simply cannot match what Saffire has to offer. We had our wedding anniversary there and there were many special touches they added. A special shout out to Matthew Cilia (?spelling), one of the resort managers who welcomed us on arrival. I had forgotten to bring my sunglasses and he lent me his to use. Such is the lengths the staff will go to serve their guests. Also, we had the misfortune of a fire alarm going off during our dinner, which of course was not their fault. They handled it with aplomb and offered to serve the rest of our meal in our suite, and added a bonus dessert as an "apology". Amazing. Thanks to all the staff for making our trip memorable.

Flawless. Exactly what I look for. Degustation dinners, and plenty of available activities. I am still thinking about some of the dishes I had. And they were flexible too - meals were adjusted to suit even preferences, and were still outstanding. Great for a babymoon. I would recommend the guided walk to the Wineglass Bay Lookout and the Oyster Farm. To be clear, these were only activities I did, so I am not not in a position to say whether they are better than the other options. I would definitely stay at Saffire if I return to Tasmania. Indeed, Saffire is a reason to return to Tasmania.

Dear LaziestTourist, Thank you for such a wonderful review of your Saffire experience, myself and the entire team are thrilled that you had such an amazing experience with us. Rest assured that our other 16 guided experiences are equally as amazing and could also present a luring temptation to come back down for some fresh Tassie air, if you needed any more tempting. We look forward to welcoming you back hopefully one day soon, Ross

There are insufficient adjectives to accurately describe how good this offering is. The staff, the location, the buildings, the suites, the activities etc. Saffire personifies what a 5 star establishment is. From the moment we drove up where Renee was waiting for us, to Ross the General Manager offering us a glass of sparkling Rose, to the beautiful suites and activities that meant we could be as active, or not, as we liked. Restaurant Manager Imogen was our Rock Star. After a few questions about the types of wines we liked, she narrowed down one for each of us from the 240 label wine list that we both absolutely loved! If that wasn’t impressive enough, when we returned to our suite after dinner there was a bottle of each of those wines, and the beer my husband was drinking at pre-dinner cocktails, added to our complimentary mini bar. No other luxury lodge we have stayed at has done that. Make sure you stay here you will not regret it. The only negative for us was that we didn’t book longer. Next time!

If heaven had a place on earth, this place would be a serious contender. Saffire is known as as luxury lodge but this word somehow doesn’t do it justice. Another word is required. The views, the main lodge, the rooms, the beds, the heated floor in the bathroom, the hot water bottle at my feet when I got into bed, the diffusers with incredible scents everywhere, the homemade biscuits in the fridge, the speciality teas in your room, the quality of the local wines……I could just keep raving on and on. Saffire also has activities and experiences that set it far apart from other (perhaps more pedestrian) places to stay. Want to meet a Tassie Devil, no problem. Want to kayak in the bay, no problem…..Want to wade out into a real oyster farm and have someone shuck them for you while you sip champagne….also no problem. And if you forget to order the tempura oysters at dinner, it’s also no problem, Phillipe will sort that out for you at breakfast/ m. My last comment is about the quality of service. I’ve travelled to many places around this globe and had many marvelous experiences but the hosts of Saffire are unprecedented and unrivaled. We have to especially name Dave, Phillipe and Corrine. They are all next level humans. And whilst we did not meet Chef Remus - he has to be certified to genius status in his field. Three chefs hats on for this man! This is definitely a place to add to your Australian list of things to do. Make sure you say hi to Dave for us!

Saffire Freycinet was above and beyond our expectations. Ourselves being a multiple GOLD medal winning accommodation and former NSW Tourism judge I believe that I am able to give an unbiased and subjective review. The facilities, accommodation, service, wine, a-la-carte menus' and tour guides were absolutely exceptional. They could not have done more to ensure our stay would become a lasting memory. And a special big thank you to Melissa B. Sincerely, Ken and June B.

Simply put, Saffire Freycinet is the best of the Luxury Lodges of Australia. And having stayed at Longitude 131, Cape Lodge, Wolgan Valley and Southern Ocean Lodge we don't make this statement lightly. Saffire Freycinet was a complete surprise for us, and truly exceeded our expectations. The service is exceptional... the staff are very good at knowing exactly what the guests want (before they ask!) There's no doubt the architecture of the buildings compliments the magnificent setting, but it is Saffire Freycinet's people who make it special! To be honest, most of our yearly travel takes us overseas... but Saffire Freycinet is now on our annual list for Australian luxury experiences.

We thoroughly enjoyed our three nights at Saffire. It is first class in all aspects, from the rooms, amenities, food, beverages to the great service, and you are made to feel special during your stay. We took full advantage of the included experiences which were fun, informative and memorable. High of this list were the Oyster Farm experiences, the connection to country and the Tasmanian Devil Enclosures. We also took delight in walking along Coles Bay each morning before breakfast - we had the beach to ourselves. We took the morning cruise out of Coles Bay to Wineglass Bay, and was also very worthwhile. It was hard to leave, but we will probably return.

we stayed 5 nights and this was our second stay at saffire .. even years later the room was exactly the same.. the upkeep is incredible!! Rooms are gorgeous. love the move to full lunch in the dining room. the plunge pool is great for kids. the activities are fun and varied. love the availability of baby sitting - so child friendly. This is my favourite lodge in the whole country and it’s worth the price. Also the cot in our room was a full sized cot (funnily the exact same one we had at home) which is amazing. Love the views from the deck. The staff are incredible. I guess they keep great notes on their customers because when you call for the second stay, the person on the phone “remembers” ask these little details about you from last time. What a great customer service flex!

We had four nights at Saffire. It is not cheap but it absolutely is worth it. A true escape. Wonderful location , wonderful food and drink, and absolutely amazing staff. Faultless. We will definitely return - we are already planning it. I type this from Saffire’s dedicated lounge at Hobart airport- another great touch. That indeed is serving us well, as our flight back to the real world has been delayed by two hours . Just one example of the service is as follows . I mentioned to the acting manager Mat that I was tackling the Sudoku in the daily paper, but was making some errors and joked that I pined for my supply of correction fluid back at home. That night we returned from dinner to a note from Mat and a supply of correction fluid ! The free tours are great fun. Our recommendation : express your interest in the tours in advance of your arrival and let the staff build an itinerary for you, as they did for us. Do also book your spa treatments in advance , as the bookings fill up quickly, With the exception of the spa and a few special activities and some super-premium beverages , everything is included . So once you take the leap and make the commitment , you can just relax and enjoy. The adrenaline rush from devouring a packet of chips and a drink from the in room minibar at no extra charge is quite exhilarating. It is hard to imagine a better getaway destination in Australia .

As you mentioned above we are not cheap but we truly believe as you have mentioned and multiple other reviews that we are exceptional value for money. I must say Tim G, I did love the line about the adrenaline rush enjoying the included minibar. Until next time, Ross
