Flawless. Exactly what I look for. Degustation dinners, and plenty of available activities. I am still thinking about some of the dishes I had. And they were flexible too - meals were adjusted to suit even preferences, and were still outstanding. Great for a babymoon. I would recommend the guided walk to the Wineglass Bay Lookout and the Oyster Farm. To be clear, these were only activities I did, so I am not not in a position to say whether they are better than the other options. I would definitely stay at Saffire if I return to Tasmania. Indeed, Saffire is a reason to return to Tasmania.
we went for our 20th wedding anniversary and would highly recommend for anyone wanting an amazing experience probably the most amazing place we've ever stayed service was impecable food was incredible worth every cent
Saffire Freycinet was above and beyond our expectations. Ourselves being a multiple GOLD medal winning accommodation and former NSW Tourism judge I believe that I am able to give an unbiased and subjective review. The facilities, accommodation, service, wine, a-la-carte menus' and tour guides were absolutely exceptional. They could not have done more to ensure our stay would become a lasting memory. And a special big thank you to Melissa B. Sincerely, Ken and June B.
Simply put, Saffire Freycinet is the best of the Luxury Lodges of Australia. And having stayed at Longitude 131, Cape Lodge, Wolgan Valley and Southern Ocean Lodge we don't make this statement lightly. Saffire Freycinet was a complete surprise for us, and truly exceeded our expectations. The service is exceptional... the staff are very good at knowing exactly what the guests want (before they ask!) There's no doubt the architecture of the buildings compliments the magnificent setting, but it is Saffire Freycinet's people who make it special! To be honest, most of our yearly travel takes us overseas... but Saffire Freycinet is now on our annual list for Australian luxury experiences.
We thoroughly enjoyed our three nights at Saffire. It is first class in all aspects, from the rooms, amenities, food, beverages to the great service, and you are made to feel special during your stay. We took full advantage of the included experiences which were fun, informative and memorable. High of this list were the Oyster Farm experiences, the connection to country and the Tasmanian Devil Enclosures. We also took delight in walking along Coles Bay each morning before breakfast - we had the beach to ourselves. We took the morning cruise out of Coles Bay to Wineglass Bay, and was also very worthwhile. It was hard to leave, but we will probably return.
we stayed 5 nights and this was our second stay at saffire .. even years later the room was exactly the same.. the upkeep is incredible!! Rooms are gorgeous. love the move to full lunch in the dining room. the plunge pool is great for kids. the activities are fun and varied. love the availability of baby sitting - so child friendly. This is my favourite lodge in the whole country and it’s worth the price. Also the cot in our room was a full sized cot (funnily the exact same one we had at home) which is amazing. Love the views from the deck. The staff are incredible. I guess they keep great notes on their customers because when you call for the second stay, the person on the phone “remembers” ask these little details about you from last time. What a great customer service flex!
We had four nights at Saffire. It is not cheap but it absolutely is worth it. A true escape. Wonderful location , wonderful food and drink, and absolutely amazing staff. Faultless. We will definitely return - we are already planning it. I type this from Saffire’s dedicated lounge at Hobart airport- another great touch. That indeed is serving us well, as our flight back to the real world has been delayed by two hours . Just one example of the service is as follows . I mentioned to the acting manager Mat that I was tackling the Sudoku in the daily paper, but was making some errors and joked that I pined for my supply of correction fluid back at home. That night we returned from dinner to a note from Mat and a supply of correction fluid ! The free tours are great fun. Our recommendation : express your interest in the tours in advance of your arrival and let the staff build an itinerary for you, as they did for us. Do also book your spa treatments in advance , as the bookings fill up quickly, With the exception of the spa and a few special activities and some super-premium beverages , everything is included . So once you take the leap and make the commitment , you can just relax and enjoy. The adrenaline rush from devouring a packet of chips and a drink from the in room minibar at no extra charge is quite exhilarating. It is hard to imagine a better getaway destination in Australia .…
Where to start?? Awesome transport to the resort from Hobart. Staff at Saffire are all amazing - friendly, happy, helpful. The guides we had for the Tasmanian Devil experience, the Oysters in the Bay, the boat ride around Schouten island, the amazing bees (the list goes on…) were all incredible. Our suite was so comfortable and we had a great view across the Bay to the Hazards. Food and wines were constantly changing - always great.
Visited here with extended family (3 couples and a toddler). Had a great time and the service was excellent. All inclusive where the meals were absolutely restaurant quality, top notch wine list and very accommodating for the toddler. The experiences were good, oyster shucking was good fun, national park walk awesome with Patty who was very knowledgeable. The kayaking was a bit meh, not too much to actually see. Spa was nice, the massages very relaxing, though the place could do with a pool or jaccuzzi. Value for money ok, definitely costs more than the sum of its parts but nothing could fault with the whole stay.
Stayed 3 nights and had a great welcome with sparking wine and then we were shown to our small house as we were upgraded. The staff we so friendly, the menu's were a great read and then to decide what to eat and a large wine list. The activities with to many to mention but some of what we experienced were wine tasting, oyster eating and watching feeing the devils. The resort may be expensive but it worth it. Looking forward to visit again.
