Saw this café on our way to Eaglehawk neck, and decided to stop in to have coffee and lunch on the way back. After asking if we could have coffee, was abruptly told "we don't do takeaway coffee", which was fine as we wanted to eat in anyway. After looking at the menu we ordered Salt & Pepper squid $16.50,...

We stopped here on the way back from Port Arthur for Devonshire tea, and although there were no more scones left we had a lovely time. Apparently a Tibetan mystic had stopped by earlier that day, so there was fascinating conversation as well as good food.

Lufra is the best hotel in the area, only because it is the only hotel in the area. The rooms are very dated and tired. The bathroom in my room seems to have been renovated recently but the room itself looks in need of some work. The furniture is well worn, the carpet and painted walls are marked and stained...

This place had been operating intermittently for a while as The Blue Seal Cafe. Until recently it was the base for one of the coastal adventure cruises, but now it is a cafe and guesthouse once again. We called in for a coffee one morning and were pleasantly received. We were able to sit in the covered outdoor area and...

We stayed in the Eaglehawk Bay Room - great value for a very well presented and cosy room. Water views from the shared verandah (only three rooms though, was never anyone on it) although it is over the main road (traffic is light). The cafe has now closed - we drove ten minutes to Mussell Boys for dinner (recommended). Good...

Three room B&B over the café. Clean and comfortable rooms included continental breakfast. We did not eat at the café so I cannot comment on the food. There was live music for a couple of hours late Saturday afternoon and this was entertaining.

We stayed in the "Hillside Room" for 1 night in Sep 09, incl yummy breakfast for A$110. Pros: Chilled out location (albeit on the main road, but gets v quiet) by the water, really cute decor, polished floor boards, clean room (lots of wood panelling), comfy bed, clean and fairly modern bathroom. Breakfast (1 big table you may have to...
